I'm open minded in that if the heavenly father was to part the clouds, point his finger at me and call me a bastard - I'd find religion. Until such a time as actual proof presents itself on religion or indeed any other whacky unproven subject I'll consider it to be bullshit.
Whilst there is no scientific evidence for a deity, there is no evidence ruling it out. Science can't explain the cause of the big bang, and abiogenesis has no evidence to support that it can lead directly to life. Therefore, in both cases, a deity is a valid theory. Until science can explain both of these, with corroborating evidence, being agnostic is the logical stance.
