I've always wondered why it is the clubs who have to pay the footballers agents. If I was selling my house I pay the estate agent to get it on the market and sell it ergo as a footballer, I pay my agent to sell my services and get me the biggest contract I can get. Why do the clubs pay?
Many players opt to do their own business now. they get plenty of time off to organize their own affairs and if they want the status symbol of an agent which is their prerogative then they should be the ones to pay.
Why wouldn't a player employ an agent,if he's free of charge? Having someone negotiate on your behalf is preferable to confronting your employer, and getting involved with the unpleasantness that may ensue. Most,if not all,top players, now leave their financial dealings to people who are better at it than they would be.
