FOLLOWING the release of Agents Fees and Intermediary Transactions by the FA today (Friday), QPR’s Director of Football Les Ferdinand and CEO Lee Hoos have provided insight and explanation relating to QPR’s figures.

The figures confirm the club paid the most in the Championship to agents during the period from October 1st 2015 to February 1st 2016.

Ferdinand told www.qpr.co.uk: “The amount we paid may surprise our supporters who have seen us change our approach to transfers in recent months.

“But I ask those fans not to be swayed by the headline figures.

“It is important everyone understands that historical transfers are responsible for a large proportion of our current payments.

“In the past, we have paid agents over a four-year period if the player we signed was given a four-year contract. And in some instances, that remained the case even if the player left. This means we are still paying agents now for players we signed when we were in the Premier League, and the figures
    released today reflect that.

“I would like to add we no longer operate in this way.”

Hoos added: “The club is working hard to cut costs across all areas of the business, in order to operate in a more sustainable fashion.

“This includes how we act regarding player acquisitions. We are now looking to sign young, hungry players, and in doing so return the club to its roots.

“Due to the club’s historical actions in the transfer market, it will be another 12 months before our new approach will be demonstrable through the Agents Fees and Intermediary Transactions figures.”

Hoos is at least saying the right things, who would be surprised that we historically paid the most agents fees when Arry was in charge...that is a surprise NOT
“I would like to add we no longer operate in this way.”

If this is true..then I am getting my club back

Absolutely. The way the club was being run was unsustainable.

So we could still be paying fees for another 2-3 years based on players like Sandro, Caulker et al. And dear old 'Arry was talking about TF having his trousers pulled down...<doh>

I don't see the names of Sandro, Caulker or Fer in these player end of contract by year listings, likely because they are out on loan. Ditto for other loaned out players, like Michael Doughty, who I would like to see back at the club next season.
