Agents are cancer in the modern game in my opinion, it would be much better if these kind of things were capped by FIFA to stop agents unsettling players as soon as Harry Redknapp twitches his decrepit, melted face in their direction. Are agents regulated nowadays, is there an FA course they have to pass to gain a certificate or is it just for any old Del Boy to have a crack at?
Strewth Terry that`s a big hit. I can understand why players need agents. There`s a lot of thick players out there and for language differences so I see why they`re necessary. If a player needs an agent the player should pay him. Unless the above figures are the clubs paying what the player would have paid. Not sure how it works tbh.
Agent fees are on top of transfer fees, payable to the agent directly from the buyer for negotiating the contract. These figures are not related to what the player pays the agent, I believe this is usually a small percentage of their salary and 15% of their signing on fee. Some players use their dads, like Messi and Neymar, keep the money in the fam.
That sounds like it`s well open to bribery to me. The best deal for the player or the best deal for the agent? Yeah right!
Well yeah, the agent spends so much time in the player's ear that he convinces the player to play only for money, then ambition goes out of the window and you get managers like Harry Redknapp whispering to his endless list of agents about how he's got a 'triffic club for them to join, where everyone's a winner. There's no doubt about it, Wickham's agent will have convinced him to reject all offers from your board now unless the figures are exorbitant.
Was he banned from agenting or fined for nefarious gannins on or summat? Seem to think there was something behind the scenes.
Surely somebody knows who signed them... did Ellis Short just leave a sack of cash for them to use? I wonder if Di Canio will be back in management soon, I hope he is, he's certainly entertaining if nothing else.
DOF, logic leads you there. Both Paulo and Gus have both mentioned the situation with the DOF. Paulo said he didn't compile the shortlist of targets and wouldn't have choosen any of them. He also publicly started he wanted a British core with experience and didn't get one. And Gus is only willing to take responsibility for Bridcutt and Buckley who he said he requested personally. Like I said, logic shows that the DOF is compiling the shortlists and the head coaches are picking from that list in our policy
