So I’m not here to make anyone eat humble pie, but maybe some could reflect on their choice of replies in future. This board turned into the darkest, moaningist, suicidal place on the web, Slagging off Bielsa and anyone who was chuffed we had him because obviously he was old and walked out of his last job. People took the pee out of me because I stuck up for Klich, even when I explained months ago that I know a lot about him as I have polish family who rave about him …. Phillips took a battering as well as Orta even though as it turns out most of Ortas players made Stoke look stupid last weekend. The fault lies with Thomas and Heckingbottom for our failures last season not Orta, Radz or Kinnear. Yes some players failed like O’Kane and Idaguchi but how many of you felt a bit sorry for Grot. He comes over here as a 19 year old kid with a great reputation but is thrown into the first team as a lone striker ffs. All his goals have come from cutting in from out wide, so the kid takes abuse from fans and on here. Funny isn’t it as he has just scored 10 goals in his last 6 games and if managed correctly would have been with the first team squad this year alongside Edmondson. The kid was upset, felt ashamed and nobody at the club went to talk to him or even visit his flat where he was alone and cracking up. I watched a few boards this Summer with fans screaming abuse at Radz for not buying anyone. I didn’t look on here but can imagine Glory had a beano. Bielsa knows what he wants and knows the players who can adapt to roles that suit them better. I think this was proved last weekend and we fans should just do what we have always done, support the club and give abuse to the owners and directors when its earned. It wasn’t earned (Except for last season) until the window had closed and even then when players like Vydra and Hernandez tried to rape the club the board should be applauded for knocking them back. The players brought in so far are top notch as long as Baker comes good. Maybe this season we should accept that we are not robots and all have different views and opinions and nobodies opinions outrank anyone else's. We have had one game and I'm guessing everyone is chuffed to bits right now, but wonder what will happen when we lose? will this board self destruct again or will it be like it used to be, a place where footy is debated and laughed at or will some start calling other posters dickheads
Hi Doc We disagreed a fair bit but it didn’t ever mean your posts were not thought provoking, I always enjoyed reading them. Check out the match day thread, I’d already mentioned to LCW we’re going to have to admit we were wrong about Klitch Anyway, good to see you back posting, I’m sure you and Billy will remind us of Stoke if it all goes tits up BTW not hoping or thinking it will
A bit early to say everything is nice and rosy in the garden Doc, Sunday was a good win against a out of sorts Stoke side, plenty of mileage to come yet.
Cheers mate, found it amazing that after so many years things started getting heated and all because we had a different view. Hopefully over and done with The big annoying thing for me was the Grot news story that came out last week. Hope a few on here read it, I was gobsmacked and amazed at how he was treated. Think there has been calls for Radz to employ a Lucy Ward or even Lucy herself
If Barndoor Jerry rocks up at TA then maybe Glory has a 3rd account. How can he be worth £4m and then be allowed to walk on a freebie with 12 months left on his contract. maybe hes not actually Jerry afterall and called Eric LM
Regarding Grot I can’t remember if I linked to it or someone else did but yes, sad affair. I try to respect everyone’s opinion no matter if I agree or disagree but on a forum with a faceless expression it’s so easy to read more into things than there really are, if I offended you or anyone it wasn’t intentional. All good here and genuinely pleased to see you back, just please don’t tell us we’re going to call Sacko back from his loan as he has a new nickname like Sharp Shooter
I assume Grot will be coming back. He was obviously short on confidence. I said a few months ago he should be in the reserves until he recovered some confidence and was bursting to get another chance. I would have considered asking Leeds RL if he could train with them for a few sessions as he seemed timid about making bodily contact.
In the position he's used to playing he's unplayable. he played 3 games for the U23s near the end of last season and scored 3 goals because Corbien played him in his own position. he scored 1 for Hecky and now has scored 6 in 4 for his new team. Orta's only fault last season was looking at Thomas because he was the cause of last seasons implosion. Klich fooked off, Ekuban not good enough, No organised defence which screwed the head of Felix, Grot played out of position, Nessy used as a DM, Lassoga used as a lone striker when he hasn't a clue how to play that role. The list is too long but I liked Thomas but not many strikers make good managers that's all I will say.
I thought he was at VVV Venlo https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/23497/jay-roy-grot-makes-loan-move
