We have all been pretty well united about the dreadful behaviour at the end of the England U21's game against Serbia and what punishment should be meted out to them.

Well what about the punishment for Leeds fans after the disgraceful event against Sheff Wednesday tonight. This club's supporters keep getting headlines for all the wrong reasons.

A total ban for away fans at Leeds matches for the rest of this season? IMO that is the minimum.

And also a word about Leeds player Michael Brown. He's been a dirty little sod for all of his career and yet another ugly performance from him tonight. I remember listening to the radio commentary of City's recent home game with Leeds and clearly remember that Michael Brown took Albert Adomah out within 60 seconds of the start. Pre-match instructions from Warnock or does Brown just decide to do it himself.

    * I'm afraid to say there are some disgraceful scenes following that goal. A Leeds fan runs onto the pitch and confronts Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, striking him to the floor. That was a push to the face of real force. There are also what look like seats thrown behind the goal. Terrible.

    * Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones on Sky Sports: "They are vile animals, whatever you want to call them. You talk about racism in the game, but then [Leeds manager Neil Warnock at the end of the game] waves at them, that is something else.
"I thought that had gone away from the game, otherwise they'll keep doing that.
"It was a great game of high intensity, and now we are talking about vile animals, all of them.
"That you need to sort, and quickly.
"Chris Kirkland is feeling sore, if he had stayed down I wonder what would have happened? They [Leeds United] should be punished."

What can you say,it's just beyond comment.....

Give them a away ban for at least 3 seasons, fine the club and ban the ring leaders for life.

Disgraceful behaviour no doubt. Apart from anything else, the idiot's head must be completely hollow as he was caught on at least 3 (and probably more) of the Sky cameras. His mobile must have been ringing off the hook with his "mates" telling him how much **** he is in...

In no way do I condone what happened however it did seem like a bit of an over reaction from Kirkland as, contrary to the BBC report which said "a fan from the Leeds end ran on to the pitch and struck Kirkland with such force he fell to the ground" I didn't think that the idiot really land a punch, it was more of a hand-off and it almost looked like he didn't know what to do and just felt compelled to do something, make some sort of "in your face" gesture, literally....

It certainly wan't a real "attack" and thought at first that he had put his finger in the goalie's eye causing him to stay down so long...

In fairness, he looked more shocked than anything else. Hope the idiot gets what is undoubtedly coming to him, probably from his fellow "fans"...

EDIT:- I tend to agree with Cheshirewhite, we have our own versions of this idiot, I have seen them many times over the years at Brentford, Forest, Leicester, Donny and many more - some know who they are, it's the same repeat offenders and I don't want to be tarred with the same brush as them thanks...

Yeah it did look like a slight over reaction from Kirkland, the guy should be getting whats deserved, but I don't think banning all Leeds fans from games is fair due to a select bunch of idiots

    is it just 1 idiot?

yes 1 got on to the pitch and hit kirkland but then that idiot ran back in the leeds end. no leeds fans handed him over but all protected him. sounds like more than 1 idiot to me. then you have leeds fans breaking seats and throwing them and bottles too. again sounds like more than 1 idiot to me. these actions are not acceptable and was from more than just 1 idiot. several hundred if not more. all leeds fans will get branded the same even the good fans because it just keeps happening to leeds and nothing ever gets done about it. so this time i hope leeds should get a heavy penalty and be made an example of. points deductions will make people think twice. banning leeds fans for away games is a good idea but maybe 5 games and see if they have learned their lesson. or even hom and away games played behind closed doors for period of time as punishment to leeds fans.

i liked dave jones interview where he says this about warnock...."I really am fuming that he sent his players to clap them. For what? Wrecking a stadium, beating up my goalkeeper?"

and here is dave jones talking about all leeds fans tarred with the same brush..... "They should be banned from every away ground if they're going to behave like that. They [Leeds fans] are all going to get tarred with the same brush and that's not right, but they will do and they should do because it wasn't one person chanting the vile things"

    why always leeds hey??

Leeds have a large element of support that are the scum of the universe. They should have been closed down many years ago. They thought it was funny setting fire to a portacabin selling refreshments at the Bradford away end taunting the Bradford fans. This was shortly after the Bradford disaster. A few years later they smashed Bournemouth to pieces, beating up innocent passers by and wrecked several pubs. The list of shame goes on.

You would have thought after the dreadful killings in Turkey and the near miss the Leeds team had in an aircraft incident they would have by now shown more dignity and respect but rarely a season goes by without a news story about another sick incident perpetrated by their large element of scum fans.

Kick the ****s out of the league.

Seen a lot worse at Ashton Gate, a LOT worse.

That Kirkland appears to have a theatrical zeal in the veins.

Great idea ban them from away matches, punish the innocent ones <doh> Remember what happened at our ground when the ones that want to cause mayham they just go in the home end, so the only losers are the innocent fans who go to watch football.

As for chanting at opposing managers teams and players bet we are all guilty of this in the past. Reading the Leeds thread most are saying they never heard anything like Jones is saying.

The one that put his hands up to Kirkland has been outed on twitter Facebook and the Leeds board so shows that you can't tar them all with the same brush.

As I said last year my wife fell on crutches after the Leeds game and the amount of them that stopped, and helped us back to the car made me realise that don't judge all on a few.

Leeds is a pretty rough old town to be honest, and i should know-i live there

However, same as Bristol and everywhere else, there are a lot of good people here too.
There are a-holes in every walk of life and every location
As an example, west Austria on the border with Southern Germany is an area of truly outstanding beauty, with good and simple country folk, yet 80 years ago it spawned the grandest old a-hole of them all.
Bristol has its fair share, you must admit that

Only been twice myself, dont remember any fans running on the pitch but do remember the 400 - 500 Bristol fans running across a park to get at 50 Leeds fans in the 80s.

Bradford ! no they didn't,after over worked staff refused to serve any more people a few 20-30 idiots decided to rock a burger type van, this caused chip fat to spill and burst into flames the fire was in the middle of the Leeds stand and caused a major panic as we thought we may burn to death,as i climbed over the fence in fear of my life it never crossed my mind to taunt Bradford fans. Not as sensational as your story but hay.

Bournemouth ! sorry wrong again.I was there Friday till Sunday despite there being thousands of ticket less fans wanting to get into this title winning game there was no trouble between fans innocent passers by etc. There was trouble with fans and police as fans tried to force there way into one section of the ground. Not as good as your story but the truth rarely is.

Back to last night,A dick head who is banned from Leeds home and away got a ticket [not from LEEDS]but off a third party, was outed to police before the game had even finished[name, address, even phone no]1 not 606 Leeds fan trying to tell west Yorkshire police says he had to wait in a long phone queue with others to grass the dick head up.We don't want people like that watching football hay.

Few seasons back a kiddie threw a sidewinder at Bradley Orr who was meant to be on the same side. Then there was Warnock, Holloway ... Saw the "attack" on tv. I'd be embarrassed for both of them. Looking at that, Kirkland was never toughest at the infants and would get bullied at the WI by the flower arrangers.
