Following Villa's win last night does anyone think we will be safe on 40pts. I certainly didn't see a 6-1 result coming. Fortunately Villa's GD is still much worse than ours but I am getting a bit concerned again having been confident after beating Norwich that we were now safe. Can anyone re-assure me that we will be OK?
PP, Depends on Wigan results mate, would prefer to get more points ourselves a win or draw against Sunderland on Monday is possible and we could get points out of the Tottenham game, whatever happens i would like to be maths safe before our trip to Southampton.
I'm pretty confident we are now safe and to be honest I'd be more worried if I was a Newcastle fan as they seem to be buggered especially as they have 2 tough away games and their final home game against Arsenal who are pushing for Europe. Exciting times ahead next season if the rumours we are getting a better manager are true!
I'm still slightly worried tbh.. Wigan seem to pull out results when they need them.. IF they don't get 3pts vs the Baggies I'll be a lot happier. A massive ask for Wigan but never say never. I originally felt that 38 would be enough but I think we are safe on 40. Wigan have a potential 12 points which could put them on 44 but its highly unlikely, its more a question of where we finish in relation to the others and it would be hard to swallow if Villa finished above us given how far adrift they were!

I can see wigan winning their two home games and getting a point away, so 39 points could be safety so as a shocked SAFC supporter (1-6) ! we should need 2 points and have the bottle but now are minus Sess our best player so who knows. We were fantastic against Everton yet rubbish at Villa. We need a new defence next season.
I think we've got past the ex-Mackem phase, we were landing the yanks this season, wonder who it will be next time?
