--------------Mignolet--------- O'Shea-----Brown---Anton------Bardo Larssen---Catts---Gardner-----Richo-- --------Sess--------Gyan-------- Not the team I would play, but I have a feeling with O'Shea being fit we will see this team. No time for sentiments, play the team that will win. Atleast with Richo on the left we have a left footed LW. Do us Sunderland fans remember one of those???
I wouldn't minf that team, unless somebody got seriously injured I would say there is no excuse for us to lose against Swansea with that team.
I can see us playing sess-gyan-richo-gardner-cattermole-larsson-mig-brown-turner-anton-o'shea in goal
God I hope so, it actually looks balanced and shock horror has 4 defenders in it playing in position where they feel comfortable. Say what you like about Ricco he is a hundred miles better on the wing than in the back four, granted its a low starting point but the team is balanced which helps us all over the park and not just down the left.
Didn't O'Shea occasionally fill in at LB for Man. U? If so, switching him and McBardo would be more balanced, maybe?
I like the look of that side, very balanced. If I.was to tweak it id move sess out left and have Ji or Wickham partnering gyan
Not sure mate but if he did even better, get them switched round. Would we see less of McBardo cutting in to let that fearsome right foot drive go though , nevermind, lets concentate on the basics of defending first and hope the front 6 can come up with the goods
I think we all agree that Ricco is so much better offensively, therefore should be in a more advanced position either on the left wing or part of a front 3. BUT there is the BRUCE FACTOR and I suspect we will continue to see Ricco at left back even though his defending for the last 3 games has been utterly disgraceful but thats down to him playing out of position.
Not if O'Shea is fit, if he is fit I just can't see how he could possibly play Ricco in defence, even after Brighton I would be totally flabbergasted.
Although of course MacBardo is a natural right footer paradoxically he does seem to fit in as LB, sometimes makes a run, cuts in and has a shot.l.
Prepare to be flabbergasted..SB is a fat stubborn twat, who you would have thought would have learnt something from his many mistakes!
I really hope not mate, it would mean Bardo on the bench if O'Shea is fit. Surely Bruce can't be that fat or indeed stubborn
I'm surprised at your assumption that Bruce will play anyone in the natural position. Perhaps he'll play Elmo again, then be declared mentally unfit.
You wouldnt have many arguements if that was the team though as show in the OP. It looks like a strong back four, balanced midfield and with Gardner supporting the strikers and some nice service from Ricco & Seb on the wings I am beginning to feel slightly confident for Saturday if this was the team.
I am happy with that team, just stick the full backs on their natural sides and we should have a winning team. TBH if We sign a striker to play with Gyan Sess and Ricco can be our left wingers, it then begs the question should we have Onouha back on loan so bardo can cover lb if Oshea is injured ??
Not the team I would play but a team thats better than any we have put out this season so it will do me
what team would you play syd??? Just read a comment up top about a 3 man attack.. would we like to see?? Midfield Larssen---Catts---Garnder Sess-----Gyan---Richo a 4-3-3.. I think that would be good. We all know that Richo is good going forward...but then again this is Bruce we are talking about..
It surprising just how many people genuinly believe Bruce is in the early stages of alzheimers or something. He'll have had his reasons for his weird looking team selection I sure and i'll reserve judgement on his mental state until he plays Steve Staunton up front against Swansea.
