Are we actually beginning to see a definitive pattern which will stamp our identity on the rest of the season, or are we benefitting from other teams tardy, or in Rochdales case boxing above their weight start ! Sheff as last season started with a stumble, Orient not quite up and running yet , Colchester expected victory, Rochdale a team we should nailed to the wall. We should have expected a point from SHEFF AND 3 WINS FROM THE OTHER 3 = 10 PTS FROM 12 WE HAVE 8.....
Putting our record against the last few years has given us a much better record and yet I fell we are not running as smoothly as most of us expected. Accepting a point when there were 2 more on the table is a poor excuse for not getting the job done and I'm sure SC realises that he needs to get his best team sorted out soon before the opposition work out how to beat us and I think it is our poor defence which just doesn't appear to have lived up to expectations yet. I believe that certain issues are holding us back and we need to secure the long term services of Sam Baldock asap so he can settle down and become the player we know he is and then perhaps we can settle down and look at every game as a potential win and 3 points. We should succeed in this division and now the problems of the past managers looks like it is in the past let's just move onward and upwards please.
Conceeding a goal a game , 46 for the season will be bad..it means we have to score at least that many or lose a few by 3 or 4 goals and win a lot at 1-0, as you say our defence is crap and we don't yet have the killer instinct, a fault we have had for 5 years, score first then get the second, we should get/aim for at least 70 goals if we want to go up and concede less than 46................
