One of the front runners for the new pope is Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana, described as "one of Africa's most energetic church leaders" by a UK Catholic magazine. please log in to view this image If elected he could do the right thing and help tackle the AIDS epidemic in Africa rather than turn a blind eye like former Hitler youth poster boy Joseph Ratzinger. We all know that Africans do not know how to use condoms as they find the process to difficult to understand but maybe a bit of education and more importantly the okay from the wee man in Rome might make a huge difference. Previously Turkie's views were similar to that of Ratzingers claiming that more money should be spent on medication in Africa than condoms but will that change? He has the potential to save millions of lives and distance himself from the terrible reign of Ratzinger, but only time will tell if he actually will or not.
