Just thought I'd send a respectful nod to the supporters, players, staff and volunteers of AFC Wimbledon after their promotion to the football league. This is an excellent achievement and one would hope this may prompt other fans to actively do something when they see their club being mishandles or mistreated. For background read an excellent article in the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...ay/23/afc-wimbledon-promotion-football-league My favourite quote: "You like to feel that Carson Yeung, Venky's, and - one day – Roman Abramovich, are merely passing through English football, but this achievement, by the supporters of AFC Wimbledon, and the club's players and manager, is a monument to enduring values, one for the ages." Unfortunately this seems to be an individual case but one that shouldn't be dismissed. Who knows, our club may really need us one day and I wonder how many of us will actually do something to protect the integrity and future of the club and how many will just wave yellow and green scarves.
