Anyone going or will me and Barry Tiger be the only ones there? It will be good to see their management team of our old boys, the two Neil's,Ardley and Cox plus ex-player Jon Meades. Also an opportunity for a bit of ex-Jack rivalry with Adebayo Akinfenwa leading their line. Mind you, if sat in the first few rows, I would be a little careful in the abuse thrown at him. However, with his size he might have trouble climbing over the barriers. WoL say last weekend's subs are likely to start for us - Wilson, Fabio, Noone, Gunnarsson, O'Keefe, Ameobi and Doyle plus Peltier, Morrison, Revell and Ajayi. Looks a strong side and good test of Ajayi's physicality which was questioned in the pre-season games.
Mixed feelings about this he's also ex Barry Town and fondly remembered .............. oh sod it, Once a Jack always a Jack!
Won't be there tonight but hope our "reserves" can go one better than Saturday - the odds certainly seem stacked in City's favour. Only 4/9 for a City win, with the Wombles on offer at 6/1, but the draw seems a fair punt at 7/2. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ardley took us back up there for a replay. A double chance Cardiff or Draw combo is 1/9 - not worth getting out of bed for, but the same Wimbledon/Draw double chance is offered at 9/5. I know I know, shame on me for going against a straight City win, but I'm going to stick my usual fiver on that and hope to lose this time.
1.0 half time. Noone free kick right on 45 mins. Uninspiring overall. 40% passes going astray. Is it replay if draw? Thought it was extra time then pens.
No change to score. Poor overall. Didn't lose the ball so much second half as we didn't have so much of it. Gunnar way off the pace. O"Keele not much better. Had a few good chances but couldn't take them. Noone and KWJ in particular. Still a win's a win especially on a night when a lot of Championship clubs lost to lower league opposition.
You're quite right Bluey - bit of a blonde moment there - shows how often I go to CC games. It certainly would have been ET and pens not a replay like the FA cup. Still it didn't matter in the end, I lost a fiver but we're through to the next round - if only just. Having watched the game, do you think anyone you saw other than Noone will trouble the 11 who started against Fulham for the QPR game?
In a word, no!!! The young keeper, Wilson, did okay but was not seriously troubled. Much better at distribution and clearing with his feet than either Marshie or Moore. Although Akinfenwa was physically incapable of covering between our defenders. I think they played in green so he would blend in with the grass. Good job they had vertical stripes, not horizontal. Fabio was Fabio. Good to have on the bench but won't replace Malone at the moment. Fabs should have scored second half. He was pi$$ed off that he didn't. Gunnar and O'Keefe - forget it. Ameobi has a great touch and can accelerate away from players if needed but flits in and out of the game. Passing was not great but it could be that others were not on the same wavelength as him. One good run and shot first half. Their keeper saved well. Doyle, lacks pace and poor in the air.but we knew that. KWJ should be on the bench Saturday. Again should have scored when clean through. Harris. Not good, looks like he has bulked up and not in a good way. Had a couple of chances to get away from defenders but messed up badly. To conclude, same team as last week for QPR.
