If he believe's someone better can do the job - nice misleading headline!! http://www.football365.com/news/advocaat-prepared-to-quit-sunderland? ----------------------------------- Dick Advocaat says he will step down as Sunderland boss if he believes that another manager could do a better job. The Black Cats are bottom of the Premier League with just two points after conceding 13 goals in six Premier League games. The Dutchman faced the media on Monday ahead of a Capital One Cup clash with Manchester City and was honest about the job ahead. But when asked whether he regretted changing his mind and staying at the club after saving them relegation, he said: “No. There are no regrets. “But let’s be clear – if I feel that it is better for somebody else to take over then I will go. Believe me.” Advocaat was asked to compare the plights of struggling neighbours Newcastle and he said: “I don’t want to say anything about Newcastle, but they spent £50million, which is a bit different to what we have done.” Mercifully, Younes Kaboul is suspended for the clash with Manchester City after his red card during defeat to Bournemouth. ----------------------------------- Not sure who interviewed him for this, but what sort of ****house journalist asks a manager to compare his teams plight to their neighbours who are in a similar position?
If they were a decent journo they wouldn't be working for a football website that no one has heard of - they'd be covering the sport sections of a decent paper or the like.
I've just watched it back on SAFSee and unless there's been some good editing there was no mention of them up the road. I suspect someone is stirring! Hope the club go after them for slander / lible ( whichever applies in this case ) if that is the case.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34317814 He was asked about Newcastle but all he would say is they spent £50m this summer which is rather different from what we did. I hate saying it, but this is looking more and more like another PDC to me. The impression I got is that they've talked this w.e. and found no common ground. (But that's not been said, just an impression I got). I backed the players against PDC because, let's face it, he was a fanatic. But not any more.
Weird. Those comments about Newcastle were on the BBC board 38 minutes ago - and I can't find them now! That's been edited. If you go to the football365 link Marcus gives above it's still there as of 17.56.
Did not get the money spent on players he wanted eg Celtic's CB....If you look at the state of Coates and Kaboul he was right
