Only just watched Nolberto Solano's Soccer AM appearance and he was asked about who were the best players he'd played with and was asked about being referred to as an "adopted geordie". He is undoubtedly an adopted geordie but....

....Who else, in your opinion, has earned this title?

    The following are a given:

    Nolberto Solano
    Phillipe Albert
    Pavel Srnicek

Did this bunch have it then throw it away?

    Joey Barton
    Kevin Nolan
    Jose Enrique
    Shay Given

Do these lot have it already?

    Fabricio Coloccini
    Ryan Taylor
    Cheick Tiote

    AND FINALLY

Who do you expect to get it in the future?

Shay Given definetly for me! Legend!

Would like to think Jonas/Colo are also sort of

Habib Beye was for a short spell before he moved on and now we don't like him haha

Tim Krul would also class as one

Ryan Taylor is still a ****ing knacker. , Krul and Cabaye could well be. Sir Les I thought was, but then he went to work for spuds. Rob Lee and Warren Barton for definite though.

I'd still say Given. He's a club legend in my opinion, and when he did the punditry on our Championship game with Sheff. Utd he kept referring to us as 'us' and 'we'. And Solano left just like Given did, so if you use that for not including Shay, you can't include Nobby. <ok>

Edit: Pleased to see I'm not the only one who said Given. :D

Shay is a legend, he's definitely one for my money. I'd give David Ginola the honour too, just for being a cool bastard!

Laurent Robert was brilliant for a spell - really helped us get towards the Champions League

I also liked Sibierski - was so nice, bit like Shefki Kuqi haha

Would also like to give a special mention to Chris Hughton :)

    Kevin Keegan aswell

Tim Krul should be classed as one. He's been here for a few years. And already has popularity with fans.

Given should still have it I think. He was a quality player when he was here.

Barton/Nolan/Enrique, nah, I wouldnt have ever classed them as adopted Geordies. Werent with the club long enough imo.

Tiote definetley will become on if he stays for 3 more years or so.

I'd put Ginola and Given in my own list but wasn't sure if there would be anyone bitter. I would argue all night that Given was the best in the world, pointing out that if you can look as good as Given with players like Dabizas, Boumsong, Bramble and the like in front of you, he must be good. I only wish he'd gone to a better club when he left. City weren't exactly the club they are now when he left. Seemed to be a money move.

    Beresford anyone?
