Quote through BBC Sport as follows:

Bristol City head coach Sean O'Driscoll says the club's board will have the final say on the sale of influential winger Albert Adomah.

The Championship side rejected a bid for the 25-year-old last week, believed to be from Crystal Palace.

Adomah, who is currently on international duty with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations, is contracted at Ashton Gate until 2014.

"Everybody has a price," O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol.

"I don't think financially we have to sell him - just like I don't think Crystal Palace had to sell [Wilfried] Zaha, but when Manchester United put in £15m then that's good business.

"It's the same with Albert. I'm sure the two clubs will decide whether they can come to some sort of agreement, but that's for the board to decide rather than me."

Bristol City paid a six-figure fee for London-born Adomah in July 2010, and he has gone on to make 121 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals.

Speaking last week, the player said: "At the moment I'm happy at Bristol City. It's not down to me whether they let me go."

Adomah was the subject of a £3m bid from a Premier League side last season and he has been mooted as a possible replacement for Zaha, who will join Manchester United at the end of the season.

    * I suppose this statement was onbviously going to come sooner or later but does anyone think that he could be sold in this transfer window?

At the right price it could be a good deal but then again would we have the money in time to seal some deals in the remaining days of the window, or could we even get him on loan for the rest of the season as per Zaha.

I'm not even beginning to say that Albert is on his way but by my thinking is why would you release this statement without some smoke being spotted. Could be interesting and perhaps City are keeping their cards under the table - who knows?

If the money is right, and bearing in mind that our new Manager doesn't appear to be a big fan of using wingers, then we should take the money.

Should we get relegated it will give us the opportunity of funding the right players to get us straight back to the Championship, and if by a miracle we survive at this level I'd hope the money will be used to ensure that we stay here.

I predicted he would go to Palace when Bolassie went there. I still hope I am wrong, but equally the last thing we need is a repeat of the Maynard debacle.

If Arsenal or a Manchester club came in for him I really would understand him moving, but to Palace ?

If he need to see what can happen to a career after moving from a stable situation he should look at Maynard.
On the other hand he may have just looked at the league table

Isn't it about time we came up on the good side of a transfer and who knows this may be a start.

If we sell Albert for a decent price do you think we should hold out for add ons if he is transferred within a specific time frame, to cover our backsides just in case he becomes more valuable in the transfer market to his next employer.

Our track record in any transfer market has been poor, at best, and perhaps the new board and Sean have finally got their act together because it could be a very good way of paying down the debt millstone around our neck. Time is marching on and I want City to improve and save our season and perhaps put a few extra beans in the bag along with some points.

Why not Palace? just look at the table for your answer. We are favourites to go down without a shadow of doubt and Palace are well placed to step up to the promised land. His mate Yannick has probably been praising them up big time and throw in a bigger pay rise than we could offer and its a no-brainer realy. Sure he is a nice guy and all that, but unfortunately its money that talks in the modern game and any player at any club in any league will follow the dosh..........

That statement SoD made was 10 minutes after the game on Saturday! When the commentator asked SoD straight out what's happening.
Don't think SoD will win any prizes for his personality in interviews to the media. Not that I disagreed with what he said just never going to be a guest speaker is he?
