Well I think its safe to say albert wont be here much longer, Might be here for the game tomorrow but defiantly not the Coventry game.
I would play him tomorrow...he'll put in a storming game and then we can ask Boro to double their offer......... or he'll get badly injured, out for the season and then will be a free agent at season's end.....hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Play him if we want to, at the moment we pay his wages so use him if needed. If Boro are concerned about him playing up the fee and ask us to rest him just until they sort out personal terms.
Andy Stockhausen ‏@AndyStockhausen 4m No deal between City and Boro for Adomah this weekend. Will Albert be in the team to face Bradford today? SOD to release line-up at 2pm
I don't think that Boro have the cash to make a bid for Albert that the board would take tbh. May bring other suitors out of the woodwork though. He must wonder where all the supposed interest from the clubs Newley promoted to the Prem has gone?? Bloody cold in Boro for an African lad.....
Andy Stockhausen ‏@AndyStockhausen 1h Wigan back in with improved bid for Adomah. Bristol City still in talks with Boro and looks as though the saga is set to rumble on. Andy Stockhausen ‏@AndyStockhausen 1h Owen Coyle still keen on Adomah and Wigan offering closer to £1m this time. An improvement on last month's £800,000 but will it be enough? Andy Stockhausen ‏@AndyStockhausen 1h City and Boro still unable to agree on staging of payments and the north east club becoming frustrated. So Wigan are back in and Middlesbrough continuing to negotiate. Bidding war on the horizon?
Lets hope so and that it is resolved quickly, I think he is too far down the road to come back into the fold now and if these deals dont come off there will always be unsettling rumours and bids. Just get the deal done today and another striker in for the weekend
SoD said on the radio that if Albert goes we will be looking at better strikers - if he stays then cheaper ones
I'll get mycar and drive him to Wigan, Middlesbrough or somewhere equally horrible and depressing up North...if we can get BS !
If Albert leaves will we try for Billy Sharp possibly if there was a clause for non promotion in the contract it might happen a lot depends on what Billy Sharp thinks of Sean O'Driscoll as a manager if he believes that Sean can guide City to promotion at the first time of asking he might consider it but usually in Football it is all about wages and money. Southampton do not want to let BS go on loan as he only has 12 months of so on his contract so their only chance of getting anything for him is to sell now, and so far the only offers I have seen have been from Doncaster asking for him on loan and they weren't even offering to pay his whole wages. If Sharp stays at Southampton is he going to play many games - Unless there are injuries he might get the odd sub appearence Are Southampton going to want to allow him to go to Northampton where they are still going to have to pay 75% of his wages and have to lose him on a free transfer at the end of it. - Not unless they are stupid. Would Southampton accept a lower offer than £800K for BS - they might better to get something than nothing Would they accept something like £350K with a further £350K if we get promoted this year or Sharp decided to stay on for another year or if we got £700K selling Sharp - might be pushing it but if it is the only offer on the table they might be forced to consider it then it would then be down to Billy Sharp again. Don't you wish we knew what players were thinking if we knew for sure BS wouldn't consider dropping into L1 then we could look at other options on the other hand if we knew he would consider playing at AG then everyone would know where they stood. I'm sure I read somewhere that Sean had spoken to Billy I wish I'd been a fly on the wall during that phone call but with my luck I'd have been squashed with a rolled up newspaper.
Sorry over the Years we have had more than enough BullShine emanating from the boardrooms of Bristol Sporting establishments.
Staged payments are useless to us under SCMP rules as the transfer fee is only added as it is paid because the paying club could default on payments.
I hear a lot of stuff on here about Billy Sharp, but I'm yet to see a single credible rumour suggesting that he'd be interested in us. Regarding Adomah, Wigan need to stop pissing around, and we need to give them an ultimatum. £1m up front, £300-500k if promoted this season, or they can **** off.
