Alistair Durden ‏@alidurdenBBC 20s Middlesbrough have submitted a bid for Bristol City winger Albert Adomah, I understand. The two clubs are now in negotiations
Get him gone bring Billy Sharp in with the funds happy days,he does not want to be here,Players 100% for the cause in the red shirts only please.
suppose we have to assume the bid for Adomah must be in the region the club are looking for otherwise they would not be talking, unless the negotiation is F off.
Not too hopeful about keeping him, nor about attracting Billy Sharp. We will be short of firepower once he has left. All the class is leaving, and what has stayed is injured Not a happy day
Boro have met our 1 million valuation. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8850027/?utm_source=skytvbetfeed&utm_medium=twitter
According to Sky, they've put in a bid "in excess of £1m". I'm guessing around £1.2m. To be honest, for that money I'd happily see him go if he wants out. I really don't think he'll go for more than that, so we need to sell on now.
1.2 million would see us afford Billy sharp with 450k left over plus the 500k for davies would see us with 950k With that sort of money we could easily offer him 10k a week
over £1mil goodbye Albert at least it frees up funds for the 2 Marlons and possibly another striker that SO'D wants
As long as everyone is happy with the fee then take it sign up Josh Carson as his replacement sign up Pack and Harewood then get the extra striker we want, and cover for right back then the squad is sorted for the season. If Billy Sharp was going to come to us it would likely have already happened as a way would have been found, would be nice to have him but it has been going on for a long time now and the longer it goes on the less likely the transfer same as Albert to Wigan after the first 2 weeks it was obvious that it was dead in the water. Would have been nice if Fontaine, Wilson and Kilkenny had also left for fees then we could have had a completely new squad raring to go for the new season but Killa and Fonts did nothing last year or really even the year before so I can't see them setting the world alight this season either although L1 might just be their level and they could well look good here.
Yes the Transfer fees count as income under SCMP rules so if it's 1.2 for Albert and 500K for Steve then 60% of 1.7M gives effectively £1.02M to be added to the wages budget. or £20,000 a week plus what ever Albert and Steve's wages were say £5K each. So there would be something like £30K a week to pay the wages for the two Marlons, Josh Carson, another striker and the cover for RB which Sean says he wants.
Good bit of business, shame Middlesbrough is such a s*it hole Emphasis and spotlight will now firmly be on our board to make funds available for a replacement. If we dont want wingers then Billy Sharp or Gareth Bale fit the bill nicely
It's also worth mentioning that we're yet to dive into the loan market. I reckon that with SOD we could probably land some solid loan signings, perhaps even a few Arsenal academy stars. There was that one lad who was doing extremely well for them over their pre-season tour. I reckon a cheeky loan bid for him would be good.
On your bike Albert you don't want to be here so good luck up in Middlesborough. SOD was concerned about his lack of firepower and now it is even worse so he needs to get someone in who will give us goals and commitment. Don't leave it too long or you will lose the few faithful that are left after last season. Billy Sharp would raise the stakes so for goodness sake do what is necessary to get hime here even though I don't think realistically that it is possible. Show some balls and don't dilly dally on the way we need someone right now and while you're at it get rid of the remainder of last years dross. Don't rebuild our team on loans and wannabees.
If the transfer fee's are part of the income, then buying a player is part of the 60% expenditure? So if we get these players free then we can use only 60% of this on wages.
