Heard of speculation that this could be on the cards! I find this hard to believe but thought I'd ask if anyone else had picked up rumours about this.
heard the rumour, its all bullshit, if there is one thing ellis knows, its how to mitigate - no worries there mate
Can't see any reason why. If Ellis wants to stay long term then he could do without the points deduction as he'd want to come back swiftly. If Ellis was looking to move on then the club would be a better prospect if the books can be got in order from within without the need for administration - surely that would lower the value significantly. I don't see how it would make financial sense for a wealthy owner.
Heard nothing, but, having said that, I would not be suprised if Ellis Short was looking for ways to offload the club, especially when Gus Poyet almost stated the club is unmanegeble.
We will get £18 m next season as the first parachute payment, so that will help us out and the wage bill slashed to 40%, and we have a team already to get us straight back up.
I think Mannone is a very good keeper and your back line should be alright in the championship if they are all staying. A stable midfield with some attacking flair and your main issue will be people to put them away up front, a good loan or two would sort that out. This all depend on who you manage to keep hold of and who you offload but players like Cattermole, Colback, Brown, Mannone, Bardsley, Fletcher, Bridcutt should be good in the championship, AJ and Giaccherini should tear it up completely and I have a feeling that Jozy, Scocco, Cuellar and O'Shea would come good too. However, you could probably get comparable or better players for less wages (even with the pay cut) and without the stigma of having failed you and being a 'bad core'
I don't want to keep any of our our high earning jobs worths. The players I'd keep are in bold, add Vergini to that list, promote half a dozen of the young uns, and wheel and deal to get the rest. Full rebuild and dropping the ****e is imperative as far as I'm concerned.
Fair enough funky but unless Jozy feels he needs to leave to maintain his place in the international squad I suspect a) you'll have him net season b) he'll score 15+ goals in the championship and may come back to the Premiership a different player. From what I've seen he looks like he should be a really good player until he gets into a scoring position and then he turns into Andreas Andersen, plus though I can't explain why he just strikes me as a decent chap.
Yep he's really good until he gets to far up the pitch, might be a confidence thing but he has 0 composure and is never really able to get the ball out of his feet
Oh I was only stating my wishes, not predicting what would happen. I think Jozy will go back to MLS personally, but if he does still he'll have my backing on the pitch
