    Maybe Scunthorpe 2009 should play Rochdale 2005, with Lambert and Holt up front. I'd watch that.

    I wasn't being serious. It was a humorous mention, a suggestion that this is a ploy set-up by Cortese to get Hooper and Adkins in the same place.

    Did you seriously think Cortese would pay for a Scunny charity match?

    True, it's very hard to tell someone's joking when they suggest Nicola Cortese paid for a Scunthorpe event for Scunthorpe without any announcement on the Southampton website, it seems like such a realistic thing to happen.

    Similarly we've sacked Nigel Adkins and have hired back Jan Poortvliet in his place - no emoticon so you know I'm telling the truth.
