Our season starts with Aston Villa , now whether I agree with this statement (I don't at all) has he put pressure on himself by saying that ?
He's 100% right, and it's probably something agreed with The Chairman imo - Adkins will be judged from this point onwards in my eyes
Not sure if he has put pressure on himself or not. If it is agreed that the season starts now and he is to be judgedd from now on then he will have relieved some pressure, as he will have an extra few games to get it right. i.e if he was going to be judged on his first ten games including the first four then he only has six to go, if its ten games from now he has ten to go.
tbh the fact we lost the First 4 games means nothing on the scale of things of a whole season. Adkins has rightly stated we would gain zero points from those 3 games who are deffo gunning for a Top four spot. I rather have them now and the players we have can Learn from the experience.. I do think we are lacking a centre back and a Goal keeper.. but to say that our season started 4 games ago is ridiculous.. Unless you were expecting a European spot.
As regards to the title of the thread, Adkins 'stated' it months ago, just after the fixture list was announced; when he gave a preamble on what the computer spewed out. In the BBC interview in July, there is hope rather than expectation in getting results in the first 4 fixtures. Maybe Nigel should have been openly ungracious or foolish to declare a win over Wigan, to give some meat to the dissection from some quarters of results as we stand now. Even the PL match commentators with their 'Big' 4 or 6 six established stroyboard to match proceeding;where everything is a foregone conclusion...until the 'lesser' team runs the fancy team close, or beats them (when they can then trot out the counter Premier League approved narrative of 'That's what makes the Premier League the best league in the World') agree the league table is still... 'embryonic'
Its like saying if we beat Wigan we would of given the points backs as the season had not started , self defeating if you ask me . Like saying there will be absolutely no upsets this season at all and why bother playing against the "top 4" ? It pointless that .
But let's be honest, based on your opinions there is no point playing the next 34- clearly we have already been relegated with 0 points.
