Mr Adkins is such kind and conciderate guy that no matter whatever happens, I will always back and get behind.

Him and Cortese are doing such a great job and this club is unrecognisable since Cortese and Marcus took over.

Appointing Adkins was questioned by some (including myself) and no-one really knew who he was and what he was like but with some fans questioning Adkins after a few unlucky results is extraordinary! The people who do question him should be questioning themselves about getting behind their team and actually 'supporting' them.

Some results will go against us (and they have) but Adkins continues to come out and be honest about the result and performance.

He's the best manager we've had in years and everyone should be supporting him and the team.

We've got time 12 days to do some business in the transfer window now and try and get some deals done. (if you exclude the FA Cup)

A winger, a defender and maybe two strikers and that will do!!

    COYR!

Agreed. He's a great manager, the players seem to really get on well with him and his policy on training, youth, and teamwork is admirable in a football culture as ugly as England's. If he tweaks his away tactics and gets in some quality to give us options from the bench then he'd be perfect. I wouldn't want anybody else but Adkins though :)

Yeah, I trust Adkins to get in the players that we need. Because I don't think Cortese wants to risk the position we're in now! <laugh>

Yeah but hang on a minute we are on the edge of a precipice mate.

We have gone from a position of strength to one of hanging on by our fingertips.

We need to be very careful that we don't go into freefall.

Did you expect us to be in this position at the start of the season? I certainly didn't. We are doing great, we just need to stay in the top six and I'll be extremely happy! <laugh>

Great guy, but I wish he would cut the crap sometimes and just come out and say " yes we were ****ing **** today". Lets not kid our selves we are only top of the league because of our home form. Are away form is just not good enough.

We are still top of the league and I can't even believe that. No, not because I couldn't expect it this season, because we play the best football in the league and have earned our top spot. I can't believe it because of our run of form recently. It surely has to turn sooner rather than later, but we are still top despite not playing well. Turn these two defeats around against Leicester, then we should be back on track. Then we need to sort out away form...

One win in our last 10 away league games is not the form of champions

Away form does need to be looked at! Maybe a more defensive side or formation.

    Without question.

But the players need to step it up.

Every team in the league steps up for the second half.

    The table can change quickly.

Reading this time last war were in relegation, made the play off final!

I don't doubt Adkins, although some of his tactical decisions leave me wondering whats going through his mind

    For Example, today:

    - Playing the Diamond Formation
    - Not having a formation after Lamberts red
    - Forte on for Guly
    - Reeves on for Lallana

One thing we should never do is question Nigel's tactics. He plays the best team available in the most appropriate formation. We don't know why De Ridder wasn't playing today despite having a couple of good games but there will be a good reason for it, we just have to trust Nigel's experience, which has done us proud for nearly a season and a half. Our squad is looking a bit depleted at the moment and will be strengthened, as well as Fonte, Chaplow etc. coming back from injury. Keep the faith people!

SotonSaint - you have been so negative tonight. Have a glass of wine and start having some faith. By all accounts we were great until the red card. Form hasn't been great, but Man Utd were being written off a month ago, and now they are joint top of the league! Teams have bad patches and good fans back them through it without slagging them off.

This "stop complaining, we're top of the league" attitude for me is saying "Enjoy it while it lasts". We should acknowledge that we're not in good form at the moment so that we can work on improving it and stay at the top. The aim is to win the league and it's clear that some changes need to be made. No point in using 20:20 hindsight to undermine what's already happened (or not happened), but change for the better is possible and we need to trust the people charged with making it happen.

We are in a poor spell at the moment, but the wheels haven't so completely fallen off the bus that I would question keeping Nigel as manager. He needs our support more than ever now, In retrospect, we should have bought another striker in the summer, but at the time we had Lambert, Barnard and Connolly. We definately should have brought someone in during the loan spell, but for whatever reason we didn't. Nicola now has to get in 2 or 3 players in January and they have to be match ready now.

Just seen highlights of match on Sky..Jack Cork's effort crossed line..we're just not having the luck at the moment.

I disagree, I don't think their was anything wrong with Adkins' tactics. The diamond formation meant we dominated possession in the first half and that half was one of the best we've played in a while. Since the sending off, we seemed to play 4-3-1-1 with Connolly helping out in midfield which I think is perfectly reasonable. I presume Guly was taken off due to his injury. I think our game plan was to drop off and defend and hit them on the counter attack with Forte's pace. Individual errors cost us anything from the game unfortunately. I agree though that I didn't understand why Lallana was taken off, I would've taken a defender off.
