I love his philosophy of living in the present and not getting ahead of yourself. This is exactly what West Ham are failing to do at the moment it seems, although it would be nice if Reading started failing as well!
Nigel's, living-in-the-present attitude, was seen on TFLS last night as being akin to some kind of Eastern philosophy. It was a light reference, but I think everyone realises that Adkins' philosophies work extremely well. It's not just having good players, it's bringing them together, working as a team, focussing on the next step, making them better. Besides, it's Nicola's and Les Reed's job to think further ahead.
Buddhism teaches that the past is necessarily fixed, and also that we're powerless to causally affect the future: only the present is 'real'. Maybe Nigel spends his free afternoons meditating as well as having Tantric sex with his wife?
