Well, I prayed that we got Warnock when rumours were first circulating, I was wrong to wish that. I would like to say I hope this is true but I don't want to be wrong again... http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/378201/Nigel-Adkins-lined-up-for-Leeds
@henrywinter: Warnock: "If we don't get to the PL, I won't be here. But with what's gone on behind the scenes I deserve a medal' #lufc @henrywinter: Warnock praised "fantastic" #lufc fans, said they would be "top-six fans in the PL" and insisted he's a "scapegoat" for takeover travails @mrwayneg: "If they think it will help them (for me to go now) so be it. I think I deserve a medal" @PhilHayYEP: NW said that the further #lufc are from the play-offs, the more he expects the club to look for another manager. "I'll help them with that." Sounds like a man under pressure I think he maybe gone by weds
I know we differ on most things and I truly believe this season is over however, do we want Adkins now or maybe with a month to go?
1) Get him now a) Expectations rocket, but he finishes the season like Warnock did last season, fans lose a bit of patience and he is expected to do something with the team Warnock built and we struggle even more. b) He pulls something magic out and has us contending, he gets to know what we have and more time to bring out the best in players 2) We wait a) We lose out on him b) He comes in with 3 or 4 games left, we can't go up or down so he can experiment, he can get to know the players and it is like an extended pre-season
I just hope that if he does come or whoever it is funds are in place without the need to sell first. I am not asking for millions, it would be nice to see a couple of players join for free who we can offer a decent wage to and maybe a player or two totalling 1-2m I am not a fan of Boyd but he is a free agent in the summer and although not a fan I would prefer to see him out wide than White (just an example). Even it is takes another season on top of next it would be nice to have a manager with average funds to spend who has us playing competitive football and has us all in agreement that improvements are being made
Well now you're just complicating things! Option 1 for me, then we'll see what happens, until then it's all unnecessary guesswork as to what may or may not happen. Strike while the iron's hot.
If Warnock's going & Adkins is available, get him in now. Top 6 is unlikely but not impossible. It would also give adkins a few games to think about what he will need for next season
We should bring Adkins in now anyway, with the intention of replacing Warnock in the Summer. He can be NW's assistant for now. We can't buy any players anyway, so he could work acorss the club without any pressure. And if NW feels he is undermined, he can then leave.
Why does anyone think either man would be comfortable with this arrangement? Embarrassment for both is what comes to mind for me.
a) Cos we need to get Adkins signed up b) Cos NW's contract expires at end season, and he always said it was only for 18 months and then he was swanning off to retire c) Cos Adkins could come in as temp Director of Football and take a few months to see what is what, and set things in motion for when he comes in as manager d) Cos if Warnock has a problem, and leaves, we have someone already there. Am sure it can be sold right. GFH have already made it clear we will have a new manager next year, so sensible to get them looking at things immediately. Dir of Football sounds a better arrangement than assistant - admitted that could cause problems - but the intent is the same: bring in the guy who will have the long term role at the club as early as possible
The question to ask is "What are the benefits of keeping Warnock as manager until the end of the season?" If you do not believe he can bring us promotion this or next season, then it's time to go. If you're going to bring in a new manager because the incumbent manager is not 'doing the business', then there is no time like the present to bring the new man in. There can be no period of them 'working together' in any capacity as their philosophies will (hopefully) be quite different & incompatible. Assessment, planning & rebuilding must start ASAP. As someone who was very keen to bring in Warnock, I honestly believe that the time has come to cut our losses. Whatever the reasons, it didn't work. Time to move on.

I've briefly touched on it on our board, but as you have a thread on the great man, I'll elaborate it here. My gut feeling is that, unless there is a significant chance of getting promotion between now and May, Adkins will not touch ANY Championship job this season. He will wait until the summer, when he will be presented with a clean slate and the opening of the summer transfer window. Additional job opportunities may also arise - will Boro give Mowbary another chance of for example, should they fail to go up again? Like I say, it is just my opinion. But Adkins' stock is high right now, and he must know that. Why take any risk tarnishing that, by walking into a job which has little or no prospects until the summer? Moreover, Adkins is fiercly loyal. I would therefore think that Adkins will want to be 100% certain that he's walking into the right job - the best job possible - before he walks into it. I cannot see him ever doing an Appleton or Robins, and walking back out of a club again just months after taking over, for a seemingly better opportunity. So if you show your hand now, by sacking Warnock tomorrow and offering Adkins the job, I really would not be surprised if you failed to get him. And unless you put a caretaker in charge until the end of the season, that's your opportunity missed. But if you wait until the summer, I think you'd have an excellent chance of getting him. So long as he is given transfer funds and is allowed to bring in his own backroom staff (I can't see him going anywhere without Crosby), then being offered the Leeds job in the summer could be too big for him to turn down.
How it works: Board approach their target manager and ask if he is interested. If he is available and will consider the job, they will discuss a package and demands. Manager goes away and thinks about it, and if he wants job says yes. Board then sack incumbent, and within 24 hours announce their replacement. Adkins is available, so there's no club to negotiate with, no fee to pay. Adkins is not silly, and he knows looking at the top Championship clubs there are no jobs available. No Prem clubs are lining him up, and probably won't in the summer. Regardless of what people think, Leeds are a BIG club with a huge reputation, and he will know if he can get Leeds up, he will be managing a club that can easily be a top ten fixture in the Prem. Leeds is the perfect challenge for Adkins, but is he up to it? Only an approach from GFH will reveal this.
Think you may be right. Given also, at the moment, our owners can only promise transfer funds, it seems, subject to getting an investor. Warnock was duped into taking the job on a similar promise. I would imagine Adkins would need concrete proof of funds before coming on board. If thats the case, he will likely have to wait till summer
Sky text have a read if you can, certainly sounds like warnock has had enough he also confirms he won't be in charge for next season
