No, no. I'm not posting a rumour thread. Just MM's sacking has got me thinking. Nigel always talks so brightly about his job, and why not? Recent blip not withstanding, it has been a great ride for all of us. I'm sure that MM would have said the same thing a few times over the years. But he was clearly a sad forlorn figure the other day and now, probably much relieved, he is unemployed. Just got me to thinking. I had jobs where I was under pressure to perform with targets and appraisals and all that. Stress I've had, but why would anyone want to be a manager at the wrong end of the table? This took me on to our Nigel again. There are those who have questioned his judgement at the first hint of a problem. Let's fast forward. We get promoted. Nicola says the money will be there when it's been earned and so the current squad is given the nod to carry on with a couple of additions. By March we are flirting with relegation and get done at home 4-1 by a relegation rival. Will Nigel be so sprightly? Closely linked, will we still hold on to what he has done and wait for the recovery we believe he can bring about, or will we turn into the wolf pack and rip him apart? Sorry, a sombre thought. A point tonight and we'll never discuss it again!
