QPR look resigned to losing star midfielder Adel Taarabt this summer after the agent of Lazio's Pasquale Foggia suggested the player is definitely bound for France. According to Marco Sommella, who acts as Foggia's representative, Taarabt will be leaving Loftus Road during the summer for Paris St Germain, with his client lined up as a replacement for the Moroccan playmaker. Sommella told Italian media: 'QPR are looking for a player to replace Adel Taarabt, who is to be sold to Paris St Germain.' It was revealed earlier this month that the Parisian club are preparing a bid for Neil Warnock's star man, who tortured Championship defences last season. The bid is expected to be around £13.5million - money which QPR may find difficult to turn down. Warnock is reportedly an admirer of Foggia, who is under contract with Lazio until 2013, and Sommella has said that the 28-year-old could make a move to the Premier League. He claimed Foggia is an 'important player that deserves to play in an important league' and therefore he cannot rule out the possibility that his client will leave Italy. The Loftus Road club have already been busy in the summer transfer window, picking up England international Jay Bothroyd and midfielder Kieron Dyer after a disastrous spell at West Ham. He should be an estate agent his player played in all of two games for Lazio in the season just gone no Italian clubs are interested more of a winger than midfielder anyway apart from that Adel's staying Next
It was reported earlier that Foggia's agent said that the Rs might be interested in the Italian IF Taarabt is sold. Now, suddenly it has changed to "Taarabt is definitely going to be sold". Think. Foggia's career has stalled. He only started twice in Serie A last season. Who better that his agent to try and stir things up to try and get the man a move. I am willing to bet that if he is signed (and Taarabt goes) then he will start no more than 7 or 8 games. Any more and the pages here will be filled with "Why does Warnock keep picking him?"
There was a Foggia video attached to a posting elsewhere on Not606 and, to my untrained eye, he looked useful. He had two good feet and an eye for goal but, as twins says, he seemed to be more of a winger. However, that compilation may have been his career highlights from 5 years ago.
Well said twins. Got all the points I was thinking in one stanza! This is classic Eamon territory though coming from the agent of someone entirely unconnected with either QPR, PSG or Taarabt himself.
Agreed, Twins. He's talking carp, and trying to generate interest by association and comparing his player to Tarab's.
If Adel Taarabt was to leave QPR (Big If) he will have proved himself in the best league in the world, and gonig to play in Lige one (France) would be like the continuing in the N Powe championship, a backward step if you like. Adel at least try top take last season form into the premier league.
Agreed Tommy. The N Power Championship is the fifth most watched league in Europe. Going for PSG instead of Prem? Retrogade step. And as Eamon said above The Metro report misquoting Foggia's agent is slapdash, weak, sloppy bowlocks.
This is full of contradictions, for a start the Agent states that Adel will definetly be leaving, yet it then states that they are lining up a bid for 13.5M and that QPR would find it hard to turn down, so a bid hasnt evne been made or accepted yet.....(we only get 60% of that anyway). How can he possibly know Adels decision even if we did accept the bid. He is just trying to generate some interest in his client.
And it's being re-reported by lazy journo's on websites now without even bothering to report that Somella isn't even Taarabt's agent, such as here: http://www.sportsvibe.co.uk/news/fo...rican-ace-will-leave-premiership-rivals-9291/ Makes my blood boil, but I can't tell them because I can't sign into facebook from work to pass comment. Comment? I wouldn't even pass water on this 'story'.....
BS. Agent only trying to big up his own player who looks past it. Even if we were going to sign Foggia, why would the club tell this agent anything he wants to know about Taarabt possible transfer?
