Adel Taarabt says he and his team-mates will be playing for their lives tonight when QPR host Swansea City at Loftus Road.

Taarabt produced a sensational display in this fixture last season when Rangers ran out convincing 4-0 winners in the Championship.

The Moroccan was involved in all four goals, scoring two, as the R's swept their promotion rivals aside in the Boxing Day clash.

And this evening the 22 year-old is hoping to have just as big an impact on proceedings as Rangers look to take a giant step towards Premier League survival by picking up their third consecutive home win.

"It was probably my best performance last season," Taarabt told www.qpr.co.uk, although he knows a difficult task lies in wait against the ball-playing Swans.

"We know how they play," he added. "They like to keep the ball. We are going to have to work very hard to stop them and we must win our individual battles.

"We are playing for our lives and we have to show this on the pitch. It is important we pick up three points."

After taking seven points from their last three fixtures in W12 with wins over Arsenal and Liverpool and a draw against Everton, Taarabt says the players are enjoying performing in front of the R's faithful but he refuses to get too carried away.

"Our confidence is high at Loftus Road because we have won our last two games there but tonight is different and we all realise this," he said.

"Swansea have had a very good season and beaten some big teams. We must be patient against them, but not too much.

"They can pass you out of the game so we must attack them when we can.

"We need to focus more on what we can do rather than what Swansea can do. We need to attack them, get crosses in the box and create as many chances as we can."

Taarabt's desire to help keep the R's in the top-flight has been clearly evident from his recent performances, and he admitted: "I am very determined to keep QPR in the Premier League.

"The Manager has come in and he has given me lots of confidence. I feel good and at Loftus Road. I feel better because this is like my pitch. I really hope we can win this game."

Bit dramatic, but I like it, expecially coming from Adel :)

If he plays for his life and comes close to last years performance against the Swans this can be enjoyable.
