Read this is the Express this morning: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/259787/Tottenham-loan-bid-for-Emmanuel-Adebayor Could it be just rubbish, or is there some truth in it? Thoughts?
Are we in financial trouble ? The only moves that we are making in the market are for loan deals or signing up 16 year olds. I know that Levy said that we need to sell before we buy but what happens if we are unable to get rid of players? We will be in serious trouble come the new season.
The wages would obviously be a big problem, as could Adebayor's infamous "attitude" problems. If you can keep him happy, and motivated, he's a great striker.
Sounds like media hype to me for a number of reasons: 1. Would City really loan us a striker when we have been the main competition over the last two seasons. 2. We can't afford his wages. 3. Would Adebayor want to come to us after having just spent a pretty successful half season at Real Madrid? If this is true, which I doubt, the board need to stop wasting their time and get some realistic targets...
We have messed up in this transfer window already, we should of had new players especially key signings in place so they could have gone on a pre-season tour and got used to their new team mates and management etc. Why make our biggest signings when the season has already started? It grinds my gears to quote Peter Griffin.
I agree, I can see us falling short this transfer market already. We need to hit the beginning of the season hard. We have a tough 6 games to start with and losing to many of them will see the likes of Modders, Bale, VDV just not giving it their all and probably leaving in the Jan window.
I think Vucinic is more realistic. I'd be delighted if we signed Adebayor, he'd suit our system better than Rossi or Aguero and most of the others we're supposed to have tried to sign for £40+mill. I think City are arrogant enough to no longer see us as a rival and so we could possibly get a deal done but I don't think they'll loan him to us if we're gonna leave them with £100k pw to pick up on Adebayor's wages.
The only way you will get Adebayor on loan is if you pick up his wage bill in total. The M.C.F.C. have said that no player will be allowed to go out on loan unless that club picks up that players wage in full. So my friends you either have to stump up the transfer fee and then agree a wage with him, or you agree aloan deal and still have to stump up his wages. M.C.F.C. are not a charity where we can keep loanin gplayers out and pay their wages as well. How about a straight swap you give us Modric and we'will give you Adebayor, that is providing both managers agree.
So we get a player you value at £14mill and you get a player that we've already rejected an offer of double Adebayor's valuation? I'll have to discuss it with Levy but I don't hold much hope for you.
Cardiff fan, Man city are in deep trouble with balancing the accounts for the new FIFA regulations so they must start correcting this urgently and the sponsorship deal is simply a way to show some injection of cash as is the silly few million they got for Given. They are buying more players and must dump a lot more including Bellamy we want so if Ade wants to come to you and sits tight you will get him dirt cheap. It is bluff asking for transfer fees and pay the whole wages, they gave them long contracts on big money let them pay the wages. Bellamy is sitting tight till the transfer window shuts and they know they cant sell him then we will offer the same deal as last season...we pay our maximum wages they fork out the rest take it or leave it. Why not get Santa Cruz as well he`s surplus?
Why should we do City any favours by loaning him in, especially as he: a.) Wants a move to Real Madrid b.) Has a track record of causing aggro in the dressing room c.) Will obliterate our wage structure If they need players off their wage bill, we'll gladly take Kolarov or Kompany. They'll fit into positions we need filled in, and won't demand massive salaries.
Make him our offer within our wage structure, if he accepts it or not will show what sort of attitude he has.
Kolarov, Croydon? What, as back-up for Assou-Ekotto or something? Kompany's one of City's key players, in my opinion. He'd demand a big wage, if he were to leave. People were put off by his injury record, if I remember correctly, which looks like a mistake at the moment. As KH suggests, if we could agree a deal with City and Adebayor would agree to a substantial wage cut, then I'd gladly take him. Can't see it happening, though.
As has been pointed out, Citeh have to try and make sure they don't fall foul of UEFA's FFP rules as they are in the CL next season. If their cosy little self-sponsorship deal is given the thumbs down, as I think it should, then they will have to offload players and/or their saleries to try and get within the max allowed loss of E40mm. I would love for us to have Kompany, I think he's an excellent player. Why on earth would ****ty want to sell him, though?
I do like Pav as a player, and think that is he were given more time on the pitch he could be a great striker, but Harry doesn't seem to rate him unfortunately. Out of all our strikers, think that selling Pav on would be the worst option.
