To be fair he probably is right, he's always played at a lower level and players of Lallana's quality are hard to come by outside the premier league.

Adam Lallana is a player I quote to any football fan who'll listen (I can bore for England on the subject of Saints as many a mate will testify.) That moment when he signed a new contract and talked of showing loyalty to the club that had given him the opportunity to play elevated him to genuine sainthood! Even Le Tiss made it clear he would go if Saints dropped out of the Prem, while Lallana signed a long contract while we were still in Div 3 and our promotion was far from certain.

Yet I hope Rickie gets the award for which the two have been nominated. He's known tough times and has developed into a superb all round player (take a bow Pardew and Adkins). It also seems he's a genuine team player from his remarks, and this can be seen in how much he enjoys the goals scored by others in the team.

Lambert says he can cut it in the Pl, especially with an attack minded team like Saints. He probably recognises that he his reaching his best because he has found a team that suits him. Would also like Lambert to get Championship player of the year because of his all round play, but suspect it will go to the Cardiff lad.

The British press brown-nose Cardiff City no end for some strange reason, so I suspect you're right.

Lambert should be a certainty to win the award however i have a bad feeling Whittingham will somehow get it instead. In all honesty tho all i care about is promotion. It is a team game not individual so wouldn't be majorly disappointed if Neither of our players wins it.
