Any update on our captains injury? A good sign he was walking ok by himself but that doesn't always paint the full picture. He would be a huge loss if he was out for some time but could do J-Rod some good.

Not looking good, a guy on Saintsweb just posted 3 sad faces. On the face of it this sounds like duff information, but unfortunately this particular bloke is a friend of Lallana's. Not good news.

I can't believe that I'm about to say this, but it's better that it's Lallana than Rickie, Morgan, Cork, Puncheon, Ramirez. Rickie and Gaston are pretty much irreplaceable, as are Morgan and Cork and Puncheon is playing out of his skin. Obviously it's not good news Lallana's injured, but we've got other players that can create things, i.e. Gaston, Puncheon and Mayuka. If it was Rickie or Morgan I'd be ****ting myself.

I agree with Tom. Adam is replaceable. Still hope it won't be too long though!

Yeah it's meant to be pretty bad. Few months, but lets get to January and see how we are coping and what we have available.

Gutted, for us & for him. The only little glimmer is as a new dad he won't be able to be down about it, he just gets a bit of quality time while making his way back to fitness.

Usual, although THEVMAN on SaintsWeb is the man to go to with Lallana, he's in contact with him from what I understand.

Club obviously going to be disappointed, but we'll just have to shuffle the pack.

Lallana brings a special talent to the side. He's the unpredictable one. Ramirez is an out 'n' out star in the making, but Adam is the closest thing we've got to Matthew Le Tissier, in the current side, and I can find no higher praise than that. I love Rickie, and he may wear the old No.7 shirt and take the penalties, but he's a regular great player. Adam is something special. He's a spark, a catalyst. Saints will just have to play differently to accommodate his injury. Maybe he's replaceable by playing another way, but we'll still miss him.

To be honest, as long as Gaston stays fit and Puncheon keeps on playing the way he has been, we'll be fine. And there's the small matter of the transfer window coming up. His injury happened at the right time, if he had to get injured.

If he is out then i'd be in favour of going back to 4-4-2, Guly on the right Puncheon on the left with One-goal and Lambert upfront.

Hell no! We'd be back to conceding 3 or 4 a game. For me:

    Puncheon-------Gaston-------- Mayuka
    ----------- ----Lambert------------

It appeared to be one of those totally innocuous events that so often lead to long term injuries although I hope I am wrong. If it is a bad one, we should just offer Swansea £4m for Michu. They'd be delighted to double their money in just six months....

Why on earth would Mayuka start? not sure what the obsession with him is. Nigel clearly doesn't fancy him and i can see why. as i said One-goal and Lambert for me.

I'm not defending the argument to start him but how can you see why NA doesn't fancy Mayuka when we've all had the grand total of 15 minutes play to judge him on?

Nigel didn't buy him for starters, hence why he goes for One-goal whenever he makes a striker change. and secondly the fact he has only been on the pitch for 15 minutes shows exactly why he is not fancied.

Who did buy him then?. Mayuka has not been given a chance, to right him off just because you think you know what Adkins thinks of him is ****ing stupid.

Whenever Lallana has missed games in the last few seasons we have struggled, we may have other players with attacking qualities now but to think that we won't miss a player of Lallana's flair (and commitment) is foolish. If he is out for several months then I'll be hugely disappointed.

Cortese did it with the help of a scout or two, like the Ramirez transfer. Cortese knew Mayuka personally, and approached him over the transfer directly. It was common knowledge at the time. Research some of the articles if you like.

On second thought it may have been Mayuka's agent who Cortese knew personally, i forget the details. But it was Cortese who did it. All others are Nigel's though.

Where did you get this info?, not that it matters as Mayuka players upfront or on the right. So him covering for Lallana wouldn't work.
