Adam Webster has been called up to the England under-17 squad for a friendly tournament in Portugal. It is the first time the Chichester-born 17-year-old defender â who made his first-team debut in Saturdayâs Championship defeat to West Ham â has been selected by the Three Lions. Pompeyâs academy manager Andy Awford said: âItâs been a great week for Adam and he deserves this latest recognition. Weâre really pleased for him. âIt will be a huge benefit for him â just as it has been for Sam Magri in the past. Playing international matches against good quality players can only help him improve.â England face Portugal (February 2), Holland (February 4) and France (February 6) in the Algarve Tournament.
