Apparently Warnock's sent him back to Spurs. Also rumours of Matt Mills being the player to come in for the Portsmouth match. Seems unlikely but apparently they want rid so we'll see.
so us "being busy" in the transfer window and getting in some "quality signings" has resulted in 3 out of 4 of them going back?
Source? Would have quite liked to keep Smith but he's certainly not irreplaceable. As much as i would like it to be true, the Matt Mills thing seems very unlikely...
A guy on twitter (wait, wait) who predicted both the Smith and Delph deals, he's also the guy claiming Mills is coming in. Duncan Castles is also reporting on Smith.
In fairness one is through injury and another is a new manager trying, I'm guessing, to free up wages.
Oh ok fair enough Fingers crossed for Matt Mills! EDIT - Mills wasn't even included on the bench for their game tonight. Surely something must be going on?
Warnock really putting his stamp on the squad then. Are we talking mills the £5 million defender here???
That's what the guys saying. Certainly, they haven't put him in their squad tonight and CB is definitely an area Warnock will be looking at.
mmm, I dont really rate Mills too highly to be honest. Hes better than anything we have but I woulda preferred St. Ledger in January
Mills is a decent defender, he's just not worth the £5m they paid for him and he does seem to get sent off rather a lot.
Mills would be banned for 6 of the games hes a loose cannon! I like that warnocks clearing space for his own players
He's a top, top centre half. We probably paid a million or so over but we were up against Prem clubs in the race for his signature. His distribution is shocking but he's a very good player. However, he will not be leaving Leicester. It's all paper talk. We won 2-1 at Norwich on saturday and St Ledger and Morgan looked very sound (as the did tonight) and you don't change that after their performance at Carrow Rd. Mills is a CB and only a CB, therefore with only 5 subs on the bench it's clear why he would choose Bamba who can play anywhere across the back four and in midfield.
You know what bugs me, is I'm actually starting to like AKCJ, he's been rather reasonable as of late.
I hope the rumours about Mills are correct but let's look at this realistically... The transfer window is closed, the only way we could get the player is through the emergency loan window or if he was out of contract. We know this player is worth a serious amount of cash, forget whether he is worth 5 million or not, even if he was half price Bates is never going to entertain the signing of him so loan with a view to a permanent move is out of the question which leaves a loan to the end of the season option. Leicester are three points behind us, the true fact is they have a superior squad to us, they have a better chance of making the play offs than we do, money is no issue so why on earth would they allow one of their players to join us on loan and strengthen one of their rivals, it just doesn't make sense.
Sol will be playing at Elland Road skinning your strikers and giving us heart attacks in the not so distant future
