Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam waived a large bonus he was owed by Blackpool to ensure his move to the Reds went through. According to the report, Adam would have been entitled to 10 per cent of any sell-on fee from the Tangarines, as he had an agreement written into his contract. The figure for how much the Reds paid for Adam is undisclosed but The People assert Adam would have received £900,000 if he had ensured that the clause was enacted.
It shows that he really wanted to come and play for Liverpool and the rather large bonus wasn't that important to him. Good lad.
Is this "the people" in a citizen smith sort of way, or "The People" as in the piece of **** weekly rag.?
Agreed Chris And i heard(only a rumour)that him and Holloway have'nt spoke since january because of Ollie's greed in demanding a higher tranfer fee(that prevented him coming here in jan)based on Holloway's financial percentage bonus on Charlie's fee.
Your right tt,looking back Charlie was prolific up until christmas and as you say his form took a nosedive from january onwards.
Yes he was ace until Jan and i have no doubt that he will show what he has for us I thought that Halloway was ok till he became a moaning .........
im sure he recieved more than 900k in a sign on fee from liverpool, so either way he made some money. a rather large sum of money, not to mention his wages which will no doubt have increased ten fold as he was on a pittance at blackpool
I couldnt give a monkeys how much money he has passed up to join us,it means nothing, especially as i am sure that he isnt short of a few quid PERFORMANCES ON THE PITCH ARE WHAT COUNTS. I wanna see him do it on the pitch before I start waxing lyrical about the guy
I thought he only received that bonus if the club decided to sell him? As soon as he requested the transfer the clause was negated so he had no real choice from that point on.
If this is true Blackpool never got much of the £7m initial fee then. Some going to Holloway, some to Rangers and possibly some to Adam
He's made a nice comment recently...he has said that he will sacrifice goals.....for silverware. In other words,he's more concerned about the team and not personal accolades. Now as far as I'm concerned thats a wonderful atitude.
