According to The People, Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam waived a large bonus he was owed by Blackpool to ensure his move to the Reds went through. According to the report, Adam would have been entitled to 10 per cent of any sell-on fee from the Tangarines, as he had an agreement written into his contract. The figure for how much the Reds paid for Adam is undisclosed but The People assert Adam would have received £900,000 if he had ensured that the clause was enacted.
