Any one that watches man vs food will know who he is. Adam Richman AdamRichman @ Also, congrats to a tough little Southampton side today in a surprise victory over the Toon. Not everyday you see a sports hero named Adam! Proves how far reaching the Prem league is.
Only a surprise win to someone who doesn't follow football that closely, but goes on team reputations to fill in for their lack of info.
I tend to think of the Southampton of old as being not too unlike Wigan now (except for the McMenemy era), but those days a long gone, we are a club with money and ambition... trouble is no one outside of Southampton knows this, and unless we regularly do well each season, break into Europe or win the FA cup again we will continue to be thought of as a small club in the big league. People still attribute this viewpoint to Fulham, even now, despite regularly doing well season after season, whereas teams like Leeds and Nottingham Forest who are stuck in football league limbo at the moment are viewed as big clubs. So yeah I can understand why Richman would see this as a surprise win, so did a lot of football fans.
Good TV show don't blame him for quitting though, some of the **** he eats is unreal. No wonder Americans are so obese.
And just to add to that, when WBA beat us at The Hawthorns my brother rang me to say how badly we'd played and that Adkins must be on borrowed time. He sounded really, really depressed by it, whereas I just kept repeating back to him... WBA are a very good team, it's no surprise. He didn't take any notice, but rang me this evening to talk football again and said how brilliantly we'd played, but he'd just looked at the table and wondered how WBA were in 3rd spot. I said... WBA are a very good team with a very good manager. I mean, I don't follow other clubs very closely at all, but some things are difficult to miss.
Some Americans. Their food is incredible though. They just seem to take more joy in food than anyone else.
France and Italy are also very good, but that's not true about America. I know the first thing you think of is fast food, enormous burgers and outrageous amounts of the pathetic excuses for chips they call "fries", but there's far more to them than that. I have never enjoyed food more than I have in the US, and I've spent plenty of time in France, Italy, Spain, etc. as well. As far as Europe goes, Turkey has Italy and France beat as well in my opinion.
Most of the things on Man v Food make my mouth water. Normally it's far more inventive than "Burger King but lots of it".
Well get you, Mr. International! I can just picture you at a dinner party, during the pre-dinner wine and cheese tasting, talking about the fantastic little farmer's restaurant you found whilst trekking walking across Tuscan hillsides, then going on to boast about the new pool being put in at your summer house in Spain. I have however, been to Turkey, and the food was fantastic.
Haha, I'll have you know I'm not one of those irritating people who goes on and on about their adventures abroad in order to appear cultured. I only talk about it when prompted. But yeah, I like to go to Europe. It's nice and it's cheap. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks so. The Turks are awesome people as well.
