Cant find anything on the official website but B and A posters and the twitteratis have announced that we have signed Adam Reach ( a left winger) from Middlesborough on a month's loan. Seems to have a fair amount of Championship experience and has been called up for England under 20 side.
another months loanee .....inspires inspiration.....not , he can be the best at what he does but if he don't fit in with the rest of the pack (like most other loanees) it will make very little difference!
....and how will we feel at the end of the month..... 1) He was great, pity he can't stay longer and integrate with the team 2) He's great, pity we can't buy him 3) He's useless, doen't fit in and has wasted our time 4) We've done a favour for another manager/team and got nothing out of it....until next time we do it None of these are great, are they? Think Eaves and ask yourselves does he fit 1, 2 and 4? I welcome strangers, I hope this guy is good and loves Salop the way we do BUT can he turn our season in just four weeks? He'd have to be better than Cantona to do that!
Appears I was incorrect. Just based my assumption on current performance in attracting players. Sounds pretty useful.
KDS, Yes - it looks as if he is a step up on some of our most recent loan signings in terms of experience and potential and also looks as if he could cope with the more physical side of the game. Will Parry move into the middle if Reach starts on the left? - I think Reach will start as I don't think he has come here to sit on the bench.
So where will he fit in my scale of 1)-4) above? If there is no chance of buying him or extending the loan what is the point? I so want these players to be great....but I want them to have an impact too. Maybe I am idealistic, I just hope that at the end of the season as we seek to survive we can say either the goal he scored or the cross he provided against say Swindon was the one that kept us up!
Metashrew, Lets hope he can contribute quickly - the lack of impact made by our 'strikers' has rightly been noted this season but it is also fair to say there has been a distinct lack of decent delivery from the wings and that is what Reach has been brought here to address.
I would imagine that he will be a straight replacement for Parry, who disappeared completely last Saturday. Taylor will play on the right with Akwasi and Burke up top.
Is Asante still at the club? I've not heard anything about extending the loan for him and it's been over a month since we signed him, unless the reports of it being a month are wrong like with McGinn. Personally, I'd play Reach instead of Taylor for Saturday as JT looks unfit to me and it looks as though he would benefit from a rest. He's also done nothing in our opening fixtures, so, on form, is level pegging with Bradshaw to be dropped. We want one of our key players to be fully fit for the rest of the season, though.
He will play on the right as far as I've heard, although left footed that is where he plays currently
Turner has said that both Asante and Tavernier should be available for selection. I would have thought that Asante's loan will end the beginning of September.
