Caught bits of him on the radio yesterday, and he still manages to say the right things. They're pushing heavily on community involvement and listening to people, not just fans. They've a number of sites across the City, including a deal with the Allams on our old Ideal Standard site, where they engage with the community on different activities. The marketing at FC knocks ours into a cocked hat, especially when you consider the products on offer.
I listen to him also, always comes across with measured and sensible words, not surprisingly wouldn't be drawn on the name change issue.
I listened to some of it, he really is clued up when it comes to bigging up the team and how it can effect the community, very impressive.
Results wise and falling crowds , for all his talk nothing seems to be working for FC though. I think they will be relegated this coming season.
He seems to really understand the mind set of people in Hull and East Riding and the need to be represented, and not just heard but listened to. It's probably a big incentive to any potential purchasers, that the marketing looks as though it could be improved, raising income with some quick wins as well as helping fans feel less detatched from the club.
They have as much chance of being relegated as you have of being reported to the RSPCA for cruelty to cats!
I don't wanna piss on anybody's bonfire or disrespect Our Dear Leader, but aren't Hull FC's attendances creeping towards an all time low? It seems he knows even less about RL than he did football, and that's saying something.
The bit I caught on the interview last night seemed to suggest that if things didn't pick up one of the stands at the KC might be closed for FC matches.
As I understand it, attendances have dropped heavily and they're looking at closing two of the stands. A big part of that is the poor product on the pitch. Depsite that, the Club still manages a decent standing in the community and product choice and sales seem to be reasonable in the circumstances. I'm not saying he'd be the right man for us, I just wonder what someone like him could do with our product.
I believe the SMC are looking at closing the South Stand in the 2016 season(it will stay open next year) if the attendances don't improve, as they made a £1.2m loss on opening the KC for FC games last season. The average was 9,662 last season, which is about 4,000 down on four years ago, but nowhere near their lowest ever.
True. But it is so much cheaper to run/own a rugby league club than a football club. Adam always talks well.
The South stand season tickets are already for sale for 2015 so it will be next year if it happens. It seems fair to help reduce costs but it seems to be part of the bigger game with the stadium and the council. Its about £25 for a walk up to sit in the East Stand so with city £16 charging for some games and a few poor seasons you aren't going to get many people coming and you get in a downward spiral. To whoever said they will get relegated next season hasn't seen the new system. It isn't 1 up 1 down as in previous eras.
L Needless to say, regarding the prices, the presenter mentioned how relatively cheap prices were compared to £50 at City. No mention of the£16 games. Naturally AP, who is no mug and doesn't miss an opening, was able to compare that price to the cost of a game with a season pass and plug the fact they will be doing a 12 month direct debit. Like him or not, disagree with him, but AP cones over well. Some politicians must envy his ability to project what he wants to get over and carry people with him.
They tried to close both the north and south stands for the 2015 season, after session passes had gone on sale which meant AP had to shell out to keep them open. They're also refusing to have cash turnstiles next year with will mean the ticket office will be loads busier on game day. FCs community work is really good though, if you get 10 minutes have a look at the Fanbassadors scheme, basically giving school kids and amateur players cheap tickets for prizes like coaching sessions and sponsored kits.
I agree AP is a great talker and PR man . On the pitch though Hull FC have been a bit of a disaster recently , they seem to spend (relatively) big on players who just don't perform Needless to say the communciation with fans etc. is miles better than at City
Seems highly unlikely given the capacity of East and Lower West (minus the corporate seats) would be less than most of their attendances, it would mean having to open at least one other stand regardless. Talk was about closing the North stand as its only ever used by away fans who could be accommodated in the Lower West instead.
