Just seen on Look North that Adam Pearson is about to be part of a takeover at Hull FC.... Don't think I have seen this on any other thread but sorry if it has already been covered Also HDM !! http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-12986656-detail/story.html
I'm a bit nervous about this, I can see AP possibly switching over to full time egg-chasing. On the plus side though, AP and the Allam's between them will control City, FC and the SMC.
Rumour has it the Allams are going to buy out Hull FC. I hope its not going to be another David Lloyd saga. Could it be a means to an end to try amd force the Hull City Council to sell the KC Stadium and if they refuse to threaten to move the teams to a new stadium outside the Hull boundary
Do you see it as dividing AP's loyalties, and hence his attention? I ask, cos up to now, the NP/AP/Allams axis looks to be working well. [Edit: Just seen OLM post about 10 a.m. statement]
Didn't see this coming! Seems like a small part of a bigger plan? Must be to strengthen the Allam's hand against the council to get control of the KC. You would imagine some of the back room staff may be merged between City and FC like admin to cut costs. Also, in the past I am sure Allam said the only way he would be able to back the rugby tems would be if they merged into one team, could this be on the agenda? I know it is Pearson that is doing the takeover but surely must be backed or instructed by the Allams. And paying £2-3 million for it is way over the top
We all know Mr Pearson's a traditionalist and I could have heard he's been looking at land in Gateshead...hmmmm 2+2=?
A merger would be a disaster. Neither clubs fans would support a merged club, everyone would go to either Castleford or just go and watch amateur rugby.
I don't agree, the fans would intially react negatively but they would in the end come back to supporting it, you may lose some down the dividing lines, but you will gain some aswell. However there is no chance it will ever happen, so don't see the point discussing it!
Exactly, surely this will now put more pressure on the council to sell the stadium to them, and with AP in with FC, FC won't get short changed from the sale to the Allams either, which may have worried the council previously.
He's confirmed on Humberside he's bought FC. Key points: Staying at City Wants to enjoy this football season KC sale is nothing to do with him Wants FC in the top 4 next season
Also, an FC and KR merger is not in the plans at all, other than possibly a combined team to play England in an exhibition game.
Looks like there gonna merge the two Rugby teams into one, and then by 2015 with the new football leisure world were going to have they play there too. All makes sense now to why Allams gave £1,000,000 to KR now Adam who works with him is being the chairman.
