Has agreed with Cardiff that he has no future at the club and is looking to leave..... He undoubtedly has talent, and a knack of scoring goals, but never seems to play much more than a bit part at previous clubs. Wonder if we are interested ?
More than a bit part at Reading. Isn't that a bit like Maynard with us ? Great for a couple of years, then moving every month and unable to settle.
Always seemed a bit of a David Fairclough - for those of you old enough to remember him. Super Sub I believed he was called.
How many players of this type are there plying their trade at some club or another that will never fit the bill for them? Undying loyalty is what we need and not some almost player that will hang around and perhaps perform, but probably not.
Can't see this one happening. He has made it pretty clear he wants to head north, and unless there is zero interest I doubt he will move 30 or so miles down the road
But would we want him ? I feel with the signing of Kojak (?) that Cotts is dancing to a different drum, and looking for fresh blood rather than staid and knackered old journeymen. A couple of days ago I would have taken yer hand off for anyone, now there is a different vibe….
Not for me, if we want an older/ experienced head to guide Burns, Agard and Kodiji, then Gary Hooper on loan could be a shrewd move.
Aged 28 and played for 6 clubs? Take away the last two one being a loan from Cardiff to Bolton he's stayed with his clubs for a minimum 2 years. Don't think I would class him as a journey man. And considering his 8 goals in 17 games for Bolton, if we had a chance I would like him to join.
Don't know whether any of you have been watching the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament (probably not) but I saw a young guy playing for Costa Rica (Saborio homeland?) and was very impressed. I would class him as a JET type player with the added ability to hang on to the ball the right amount of time without disappearing up his own back end.
What this player Mike? http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-City-release-Saborio/story-11242872-detail/story.html
No it wasn't Alvoro Saborio but some 18/19 year old who I believe is playing in the MLS. I rarely get too excited about a player but evertime this young kid touhed the ball I was on the edge of my seat waiting for what would happen next. Sometimes you can find these players where you least expect it but he would probably want to go home very quickly.
I went to see Orlando City vs. New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Kaka was rubbish......scrub him off our list please.
