How long until he starts for England?

Every time I watch him he really impresses me.

He has to get a run in the England team soon don't you think?

    Great player <ok>

Thank god people from other clubs are noticing him!

Hodgeson will still opt to pick Shelvey...

I agree with this, he has looked far far better than a lot of players being picked for england currently

When's the next friendly? I reckon he'll get the call for that, hopefully with Puncheon and Lambert as well.

Hodgson is too busy drooling over Zaha to notice Lallana.

If Liverpool were to sign him, he'd start for England yesterday.

There aren't any better English left midfielders at this moment in time.

He won't because he plays for little old Southampton.

To be honest, I doubt Puncheon will get a call up. But I think he'd like to give Lambert and Lallana a try. I think he's mentioned them before, unless I dreamt that.

There's still plenty of time. If Lallana has the kind of consistent season we all hope, I'm sure he'll be talked about.

Lallana won't get picked regularly whilst he's at Saints :( He deserves it though, outstanding season so far

If we stay up this season, it will be because of the sorts of performance we've seen today from Lallana, Puncheon, Clyne, Cork, and Lambert, with Luke Shaw getting an honourable mention. All of them will have earned an England call-up if we play consistently for the rest of the season. And that's just the English players of course.

The last thing we should want his him playing for bloody England!!

Higher risk of injury and tiredness from travelling.

He'll be mixing with mostly, a bunch of overpaid twonks.

Media hype over him would increase.

Playing for England isn't anything to aspire to anymore, its more of a curse on players.

He's in great form right now, certainly deserves a go, he's better than Cleverly if you ask me.

Might be the last thing we want... But I imagine he wants it, probably one of his biggest dreams, and would be a huge moment in his life. If he gets the call-up and a game, I'll be absolutely chuffed for him, he deserves it. I'd be watching through my fingers though, praying for no injuries.

Sorry, but it's still the very top level. The World Cup is the pinnacle of football, and so playing for your country is a massive ambition for any footballer.

    Thought you lads might agree.

I think its true he probably would of been picked previously if he'd played for say, Liverpool. Which is wrong.

I agree he is better than Shelvey, Cleaverley and already performing in the Premier League which means he should be over Zaha - Roy is listening to the press there.

He's in a lot better form than Gerrard to - but you can't replace the captain.

While there's players of Downing's quality around, Lala won't play for England

Regardless, if the squad was announced tomorrow I think he'd be a shoe-in... Unfortunately England's next game I believe isn't until early February, so a long wait and a long way to go for him yet.
