That'll be another one off then... will it? http://www.football365.com/premier-...ons?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter DTLW
That kind of comment used to be used as a reiteration of the ambition of the players at the club to obtain CL football at Southampton FC. Suddenly, it's another player wanting out. When did the perception change, because I missed it along the way..?
Heard this interview on Sky...never sounded like he meant he would leave to achieve it. I assumed he went with Saints.
Just watched the Lallana interview on Sky, didn't sound like someone that was going anywhere else in a hurry. That was followed by Richie Barker being made to say nice things about us and Rickie in particular, that won't please the Blue Phew!
I still find it amazing the number of tweets generated by the answer to a heavily loaded question that results in a reply that gets interpreted eight or nine different negative ways!
While I think Barker is a terrible manager, I still remain open to be swayed and would love him to prove me wrong. He can do whatever he likes regarding Southampton and take as many selfies with Southampton players as he wants if he can get us to League 1 or even the Championship.
Boruc also saying why not when asked about the Champions League for Southampton. I think this is all part of the management philosophy to not set limits on yourself. A journalist raised a good point in the press conference (yes, hard to believe, isn't it ): he said that playing in the Europa League could actually damage a team's chance to gain a Champions League spot the next season...citing Spurs as an example. Mauricio reaffirmed his dislike of the Europa League, though adding that it would be an achievement for SFC at this time. He also said that you need a lot of players (which Saints don't have) to take part.
