Earning his World Cup place and the love of the Sunderland fans.

He was pretty much double marked most of the game. This lad is trying his pluck out.

    Well done Adam.

Very well done Adam. If he keeps it up, surely Woy can't ignore him?

Looks like he's playing for the shirt & gives a ****, suggests even more so that the lads all believe & buy into Gus.

A few more of his quality and we will be flying, we now know Scocco has signed, the lads own Twitter told us, so all we need now for me is a ball playing midfielder, like Banega.

In the last 7 games he has 5 goals and 2 assists. Top scorer now. You stick a striker in our team with 10 goals and we would be well up the table.

I think gis has to get a lot of praise for getting the best out of him. 2 previous managers couldnt do it. It really seems we are trying to play a game to suit his style instead of the ****e we have seen in the past. Hes turning into the player we all hoped for when he signed

Surprisingly quiet when it comes to AJ these days. My only beef with Stu....He seemed to dismiss the lad outright. Anyone who watches football could see that AJ has talent to burn, but in his early form wasn't good enough, that might have been poor management or just Johnson not giving 100%..not sure. But we all knew this lad has talent and now we have a manager who seems to be able to get the best out of the kid. I am delighted we bought Johnson, at his best, he is a great footballer.

This sums it up for me. I was over the moon when he signed - it's obvious he's quality on his day. Hopefully Gus can continue to make sure he is 'on his day' more often. No doubt he's improved radically recently and long may it continue.

I'd echo what others have said in that AJ might be in with a shout if he keeps this up (especially with Theo out).

As a very long shot, what about Wes?! If he continues to impress on a regular basis as the cornerstone of our much-improved defence... Very very unlikely but stranger things have happened! and he could be a good experienced squad player to help the likes of Smalling and Jones.

He won;t play for England - he's not one of the boys that Roy wants. He plays for Sunderland (god forbid we take a Sunderland player to the world cup - regardless of how good they are or how many goals they've scored).

He could score another 15 before the end of the season and be MOTM in every game and single handedly win us the cup and I STILL don't think he'll go. Just a feeling I've had for quite some time as a Sunderland fan

An in-form Johnson deserves to be on the plane more than Aaron ****ing Lesbianon who's never had a decent run of form in his life. Walcott is out of the picture, Milner isn't really pulling up any rugs, Zaha won't be ready unless he has a blinding 4 months either so Woy is a fool if he overlooks a player who is doing well on the right side of midfield. Johnson has done well for England in the past, so on his current form for me I'd have him and Townsend competing for the RW spot.

If it was up to me none of the 'Old Guard' would get on that plane, they've blown enough chances at glory with England.

Having said that, Obviously Roy will pick his favourite bindipper Raheem 'Forest Gump' Sterling.

    f**king brilliant Terry!!

I have seen sterling play a few times and he is not the player everyone thinks he is - all pace and no product (Game against Everton was perfect proof). 3 times he took on an almost impossible shot rather than laying a ball off to Suarez with an almost open goal. Runs and runs and loves a dive or 2! But no-one cares as he's English and he's doing it for the English game to be bettered. f**king hate the little bastard

SKP wasn't given a fair run in the England squad and he was a Golden Boot winner! We're just not a "glamorous" club! And if one of ours does break through into the squad, we don't get to keep them long because we are a selling club and can't turn good offers down for our young players.

Until we are a regular and consistent top half team it will always be that way.

It because England coaches won't come and watch our players at the SOL.

Can anyone remember the last England coach to visit the SOL?

I thought he was finished a couple of months ago, he looked slow without any ideas or invention. He looked weak and without any confidence.

To me it looks like he has been in the gym, got himself really fit and now has the confidence to play the game he plays best which is beating a man and putting in a cross/pass or shot.

Could be a very very good player if he carries on developing and getting stronger. I am so glad its starting to work out for him and who knows, it only takes a couple of injuries and some more good performances and he could be on the plane.
