I'm always very skeptical about Egyptian players, especially after the Emad Moteab incident. Many of them have come over here and have left because of poor attitudes and a lack of motivation. He sounds great on paper, but the fans want commitment. Hopefully he can provide the level of commitment that we need at the back.
He's been with Brighton for the last 10 years. There fans do want him to go and are laughing at the fact he has come to us as they think he is championship quality. We're getting a very good player here. Whether he carries on playing well with us is yet to be seen..
I guess my ignorance got the best of me. He sounds more English than I do! Regarding his quality, I remember a certain Nicky Hunt being touted as a Premier League capable defender, and plenty of other fans wondering why he'd waste his time at a tiny Championship club. That being said, if he's as good as people claim him to be, Cotterill has done an incredible bit of business!
His brother played for Bristol Rugby a few years ago. He was a big lad who played in the pack. I think he will be fine for us. I sense that SC may believe that Derrick Williams, who has done very well for City and is still in hi first season as a league player, is perhaps a little bit battle weary. He has held the defense together but could maybe do with a break.
Liked what he said how positive SC was in negotiations. And the Brighton fans rate him, that's usually a good sign. Keep saying it with SC - so far so good.
'I reckon he will continue to play 3 at the back. you need at least 4 for that' Know what you mean Banksy but it sounds like 'one' of Triggers.
