A good solid signing. I suspect we've paid around £7M for him.

Hope you are right about the 7M. I'm happy with the signing but wonder what it means for the other midfielders.

Gerrard Mereiles Aqualani Spearing and Adam is too many.

Holloway was the stalling element in the deal all along due to him getting a percentage of the transfer fee.

Anyway the will he wont he saga thats lasted since january is over for better or worse.

Kenny thinks hes what we need so lets back his decision.

And Lucas and Henderson. But I disagree that its to many as they all bring different things to the team.

Agree - at least we are landing players we are interested in. Good solid signing - I'm surprised Arsenal weren't interested in Adam more, their midfield needs a bit of grit IMHO

Lucas is a DM so didn't include him and I think Henderson will play RW.

    Too many.
You would be complaining if we hadn't enough. We've agreed a fee for the deep-lying play-maker we obviously need. Now as I said all along,Kenny signs for positions of weakness. He looks at what we have, and signs what we don't.Expect the next signing to be a touch-line hugging wideman to compliment this signing. Then he will sign a left back,a striker and a centre back.Transfer deals concluded.

ok, I agree with you on those.

But I do think we have a great variety of styles in our midfield.

£7 mil would be a good deal for you lot. Anything over 10 would be a bit high.

We're gonna play a 2 7 1 formation next year, so we've just about got enough midfielders now... <whistle>

    It's too much.

    I mean it's too cheap.

    It took too long.

We should've gone for a foreign player.

    Did I miss anything?

If we say that we have too many midfielders, we are only basing that upon a body count. I would like to propose that KK is planning to have a good starting 11 with a 'hot' bench ie one that he can turn to if he wants to significantly change the flow of a game. If I am right then he needs all the midfield parings that he can get.

I didn't notice. I wasn't looking at names unless they were Stewart Downing.
