2 weeks into his month loan spell at Carlisle, Adam Campbell has been recalled to us. Anyone else worried that this might mean we're not in for a striker and gonna see it out with what we have? After all both Ameobi's scored against the 87th best team in the country so we should be fine!

On a day when Spurs sign Lamela and line up Eriksen, Liverpool close in on Ilori and Sakho, Toon fans can revel in local lad Campbell returning from Carlisle.

It beggars fcking belief. Just when you can't feel worse about the team another kick to the knackers comes along.

Even if it is an emergency thing, what's the point? No offence to the lad but he'll not be able to play as a lone striker in the PL at his age.

He needs first team football elsewhere, and we might as well just play an attacking mid in the ST position. I'd much rather play Ben Arfa as a striker than Campbell.

Not really, when you look at the facts.

Loan Deal was for a one month period only, to help out Carlisle and hopefully get Campbell some competitive game time.
So he was due to come back irrespective if we bring new strikers in or not.

As for coming back early - One second half appearance to date.
Carlisle player back from injury so Campbell no longer needed.

The two week period of the loan remaining, we don't play other than tomorrow, so we have no benefit in bringing him back and sticking him on subs bench.
He could have been brought back at any time during the next two weeks.
Probable that he will be loaned out again in the Loan Window but to a Championship club.

Of course its much easier to ignore the facts.

    This <ok>

My main worry is that they didn't see a place for him in their team. I mean I know he's only 18, but Carlisle have had a shocking start to the season and if we've got hopes of him becoming a prem player he should be getting game time by now for a club that's in the bottom four of league one.
