I reckon he wants to sell But will still provide funding until it does While stepping back majorly from the running operations
I can see it being quite hostile. Supporters are understandably annoyed at how slow things have been this summer.
"to brief fans on his plans for the future". Tomorrow 11 am can't come soon enough as I expect the speculation will be ridiculous between now and then. And here I go ...... I suspect he'll explain how he's having to take a step back, still committed but having to leave more to Tan & gang and / or maybe a new DoF. That signings & loans have been difficult but are coming, be patient (!). At least I hope that's what it is. You surely wouldn't announce intention to sell up via a fans Q&A!! But with the wording, and with what has(n't) been happening in recent weeks I can see why many will logically think he's looking for an out. As a related aside, I went looking for something to confirm he'd actually gone ahead with the Maribor investment. I didn't find anything other than old articles up to the stage of 'letter of intent'.
Well-run clubs don’t need Q&A sessions with the chairman four days before the first game of the season. Just saying.
Word of warning for those attending, I am told by a friend at the club that there is to be a whip round so leave your wallets at home if you dont fancy getting stung by Acun for a few quid.
I'm strangely optimistic about this, don't see why he'd call a Q+A just to tell everyone he's selling the club. There's no doubt we're in a mess, but it's nice to have an owner that's (at least on the face of things) reasonably transparent / willing to do things like this. He could've just left us to rot and said **** all and banned the local media like the previous lot.
Sounds, to me, that he may be going to be taking a back seat to concentrate on other interests, leaving the day to day running of HCAFC to Tan & others, whilst reiterating that he’s still fully committed to the one family concept.
I agree with the optimism, I am sure it will be a rallying call to get behind the team until we can get in 5 or 6 high quality players on long term deals. So we might be lower mid table for a month or so, it is not the end of the World. Didnt Sunderland win promotion from 19th in October?
Hopefully he’s signed four players from turkey and he’s going to unveil them at the meeting Order restored
