Does anyone know what happened to Yohan and Marv?

Absolutely fantastic result today but at what potential cost of the favourite X1
losing these guys and this on top of Tiote not being match fit yet. Potentially
worrying times especially as every pundit and his wife is always quick to
carp on about such a scenario bringing the toon down. Pards was quick to
mention strength in depth but is this just a press soundbite with much substance?

Thank god for a fortnight's recuperation before the Manchesters though!!

I'm loving things in B&W though!!

I don't think they're serious. Cabaye seemed precautionary and Marveaux seemed like a knock or a small strain.

All 3 had groin injuries, weirdly. Pardew says Best and Cabaye very unlikely to represent their countries but could play our next game.

We defo need Cabaye and Tiote fit for Citeh, would be a shame for Marv to have a spell out as this is 'his chance' to impress as a starter in the league!

  6. Even though i know it sounds kind of silly, if our strongest 11 had to be apart for 2 games, I'd pick the next two, because I don't fancy us in either game. I think manure will pick themselves up, and I'd rather we had all our players full of juice for our decent spell of games around december.

Just read off a Canal+ journo's twitter that France are confident Cabaye will be available for them. Then again I've just seen an interview with Pardew saying that they're certain both him and Best will miss the internationals. Either way it suggests Cabaye should be fit for the City game.

I'd be very tempted to play 5 in midfield v City and hope we draw. They are slaughtering everyone and Tiote, Cabaye and Guthrie could perhaps control the midfield as they only play a 4 man midfield. Maybe play Ben Arfa as when he has a good day, he can be a matchwinner.

Best info I CAN find is on the NUFC Official site which kind of fills more info in:

I'll definitely be tempted to play a 4-2-3-1/4-5-1/4-4-1-1 against City and United.

IF Tiote's and Cabaye ARE fit I'll go for this line-up personally :

    Krul
    Simpson Saylor Colo Raylor
Ben Arfa** Cabaye Tiote Guthrie Guti
    Ba

***Ben Arfa in a free-role rotating with Guti and playing in the ''hole'' at the same time. I just think you can't drop Guthrie with the form he's in at the moment. <ok>
