for year to 31st May 2018. https://document-api-images-prod.s3...76b613ed14497bdfed04b1a07fa0dc34e4700b5213671 The quick gist is that the club lost £37m in the year but £20m of that is the FFP fine so actual loss is £17m, still an eye watering amount and up from £6.4m the previous year. Wages are 98% of turnover up from 64% mostly due to a drop of £15m from broadcasting income (Parachute Payments) Re FFP when added to 2017 loss we can only loss another £15m this season otherwise we are in breach of FFP again and when the 17 loss drops out the equation we can only lose £22m this season and next season or we'll breach FFP again...... Buckle up everyone it's going to be a bumpy ride.....
It shows how difficult it is, and will be, to balence the books. Other than the TV money from the land of milk and honey, the only options I see short term are to sell the developed players and to nurture more. Is this the reason for loaning our all our youngsters?
Well we've already picked up £300k for getting this far, plus 50% of gate receipts, that's what another £100k, then TV money for tomorrow God knows how much BT Sport pay but say £200k plus 50% of gate receipts unless off course Watford are so generous and waiver their share as they've so much money, cough, cough.......add another £100k. Prize money doubles from here on in, £360k for winning tomorrow, £720k next round and so on...... The Technical term for the Financial outlook is "We're ****ed"....
Does just seem grossly unfair. The club are trying desperately to get in line, the purse strings have been severed but still we could fall foul of FFP.
As far as the Football League are concerned, the more it hurts the better, so as to dissuade others from following in our footsteps.
Does that mean...that the 17 million loss contains the 20 mill. FFP fine. But we only(only!) have to pay 4.7mill of it...and can carry the rest over ( I know that FFP fine also doesn't contribute to future FFP calculations). You can see I still don't understand Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Unfortunately Beth No.....the loss was £37m before FFP £20m is taken off, only the £17m counts towards FFP limits......we paid a first installment of £4.7m in these accounts and the balance is paid over 8 years roughly £1.9m per annum.......
So we can only make a 7 million pound loss next season....and we have no parachute money at all. We had a little this year. So next year is going to be very hard. We better win the cup this year..then Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Parachute payment around £9m this year so we need at least that amount from sales just to plug that hole next year, £10m for both Freeman & Eze will help!!!!!!!
