LC will offer Schmeichel a 3 year deal in the summer IF we go up, but AC Milan & now Manc Poo are ready to bid for him. At 27 he´s still got time to move to a big (if you can call ACM & Manc Poo big now) club but IF we do go up I think he´ll stay at LC maybe for 1 season, regardless of how we do & then make that `big` move. Thing is he´ll be under contract & we´ll make abit of cash. How long has he been at LC now & what did SGE pay, anyone ? "UTF"
I thought it was something like £1.3m and yeah, hes free to move once his contract runs out. If we don't get promoted, hes off imo, hes proved over the last 3 seasons that hes better than the Championship, im sure no end of clubs in the prem will be after him. If we get promoted, theirs every chance he will stay. If Man U offer him anything i think he will be off, if he was going to consider other clubs, i'd guess he'd only be interested if they offered him the No 1 spot. Hes not going to leave to sit on (say) Newcastles bench when he could be starting with us every week in the prem (promotion pending).
A great bit of business, I know goalies are cheap, but when you consider Palace paid £3m for Hennessey, Schmeichel's touted replacement.
Yeah we got a bargain with Schmeichel, no doubt (Leeds fans will tell you we overpaid by 900k for him!!! )
