Man United trio set for talks in next couple of days. Bruce hopeful on Gibson but not on other two.

He says club have denied the Gyan rumour but he will investigate further.

Gibson will add some depth and cover to our thread bear squad and may chip in with a few goals per season but he is no Henderson replacement.

I am glad Brown isnt coming because of his age, injuries and poor attitude towards Sunderland being linked with him.

I hate being linked with other club's rejects, this coming season is more of a steady the ship season rather than a full on attack and progress season, which we all hoped.

Brown is only 31, injuries have only happened the last 2 years, look at campbell is he injury prone now? as for his attitude, never heard him say anything concrete just what the papers have said.

I must be the only one on here that thinks Brown would be a great signing, and better than O`Shea, Brown is a better defender, O`Shea has better versatility, but from what i can see most players that are versatile can do a job at those positions, but isnt exceptional at any (Richardson as a good example).

I'm not sold on Brown mate, think I want a younger defender (Onouha) who will be at the club for years and someone we can build a team around but Brown is on borrowed time because of his age.

I would like to see Brown and Onouha personally. We have got big brute defenders already we need someone with a bit more guile about them, Brown has that, he does look small but he is 6 foot 1, he reminds me a bit of a Carvlho type defender, not a Terry or Ferdinand, or Bramble/Turner for that matter.

I just cant see how it will be a bad thing to get him in all honesty.

I think that Gibson is on par with Henderson in terms of ability shown, I know a lot of our supporters have put Henderson on a pedastal but the fact is he has played over 70 games for us and has yet to have a stand out game. Gibson has 5 years experience of "the united way" played and scored in champions league Q/F and at only 23 has as good as chance to kick on as Jordan has. The only thing that has prevented Gibson from progressing qicker was the lack of oppertunity in what has been prooved to be the best mid-field in the premiership. With the game time we can offer him I can see him being a success.
Again have to disagree about Brown , only 31 years and years of experience , would hardley call him injury prone, poor attitude towards Sunderland ?????????????.
And what defines another clubs reject, surely any player who leaves a club would in your eyes be classed as a reject, if this was the case we and many other teams would never sign anyone. This season has to be a season of progress, we have progressed season on season for the last 3 seasons and anything less than 10th next year will be a step backward, we do not have a wobbly ship that needs steadying.

Brown & O'Shay at the back would add experience and hopefully steady the ship, maybe add a bit more consistency which was sadly lacking last season. We need to stop the rot and those two, despite their ages will give us that.

Turner is younger, but he's slow.

Gibson and O Shea would be excellent sigings and if Brown didnt come then I wouldnt lose too much sleep. He has lost all of his pace and is injury prone now. He does have a wealth of experience but if he chose to stay in the NW with Bolton or Blackburn then so be it. 2 more depressing areas I fail to think of but thats his choice.

As I've said before I wouldn't want Brown for nowt. He woulnd't pull his pluck out for us. Players like him think they are slumming it if they have to leave Old Trafford. There's no resale value on him at 31. Injury prone and lucky to have played as many games as he has for Man Utd.
