Hi there I’m Brenden. Firstly may I say what a great start to the season you have had! It shows what can be done on a limited budget if you have a great management team in place and in Mick and Terry you certainly have that. I am posting here as I work for Access Community Trust a Suffolk based charity that supports young people and adults who are homeless and socially excluded to build a better life for themselves. Tonight we will be collecting for our winter appeal outside Portman Road before kick-off and as most would have never heard of us I just wanted to leave some information about what we do. Homelessness can be caused by many factors such as the loss of a job, family rows, divorce, drink, drugs, a health problem or a relationship breakdown which can result in catastrophic life-changing events. It’s hard to imagine but this could happen to any one of us. We provide housing, education, health & wellbeing and employment services. Every year we support over 2000 people through our services and house 200 people every night. At this time of year with the cold weather our services are more vital than ever and with your help we can provide a warm and safe environment, offering food and shelter, for those in need over the winter months. If you see one of our collectors this evening please give generously! I will check in again today so please feel free to ask questions and I will happily respond. Good luck with the rest of the season and hopefully you get promoted alongside my team! If you want to find out more about the work we do please visit our website www.accessct.org or view this recently released documentary the first 15 minutes is about one of our Residents, Barry the Master Gardener, who has changed his life after accessing our services. For those who aren’t able to make the game but want to support us we have a just giving page here http://www.totalgiving.co.uk/appeal/winterappeal Thanks for your time and hope tonight’s game is a cracker!
